Helmuth Bohrer & Hilda Mohl Bohrer

Helmuth and Hilda Bohrer were both born in the Mannhaven area where their parents homesteaded. After their marriage, they homesteaded a few miles from there and farmed there until 1946. They were the first settlers to leave the land after it was purchased by the government for the building of Garrison Dam. They moved to Riverdale while employed by the Army Corps of Engineers until 1966. They retired in Underwood.

Helmuth was born in 1900, the son of Peter and Eva (Doerr) Bohrer. Helmuth died in 1974.

Hilda was born in 1905 to Jacob and Katharina (Guenthner) Mohl. Hilda died in 1978.

HELMUTH BOHRERS NOTE ANNIVERSARY

The 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Helmut Bohrer of Riverdale, was observed Christmas night at a reception and dinner held in Hazen at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.

A church service preceded the festivities.  Attending the couple during the service were Mrs. John Baszler and Herbert Mohl, both of whom had been their attendants at the wedding date, 25 years previous.

Five of the Bohrer daughters, Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Link, Alice, Helen, Mary and Ione, were present for the celebration. Another daughter, Evelyn, lives at Strasburg.
