JOHN JOE RYBUS

John was born in Warsaw, Poland to Thomas and Kathrine Rybus on 23 July 1898. His known siblings were: Joseph, Irene, Anton, and Stanley. The family immigrated from Poland in January 1910.
John enlisted at Geneseo, Sargent County on 22 July 1918; sent to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri; served in 34th Company, 1st Labor Regiment, Camp Joseph E. Johnston, Florida to 26 August 1918 then overseas from 8 September 1918 with the 325th Field Remount Squadron to his death from pneumonia at one of the Remount Depots in France. He was buried in, Grave 2, Row 32, Block A, Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et-Nesles, Aisne, France. His mother, Katie, was part of World War I Mothers' Pilgrimage in 1929.
While John was stationed in Florida he petitioned on 15 August 1918 for naturalization.
