 Jacob was born in New Rockford to William and Katherine Ackermann Allmaras on 8 February 1924. His known siblings were: Elizabeth (1921), Catherine (1922), Theodore (1925), Edward (1926), Helen (1928), Donald (1929), Alfred (1931), Avis (1933), and Lawrence (1935).
Jacob married Alice O'Conner on 27 June 1950 in Eddy County.
Because of the Korean War, he joined the U. S. Army on 4 January 1949 and served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 38th Infantry, 2nd Division. Jacob was killed in action on 13 May 1951 on Bunker Hill - Hill 1051 Area. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
