To reach this cemetery from Minnewaukan, ND take ND Hwy #19 going west two miles. Going south on a gravel road drive for one mile, turning east go 1/2 mile. The cemetery on the south side of the road. It is situated on a slight rise overlooking rolling hills, pasture, farmland and Devils Lake, which is North Dakota's largest natural lake, to the east. The scenery is spectacular from this area and makes for a very pleasant visit to this cemetery. The Minnewaukan Evangelical Lutheran Church and Cemetery were established in 1890. The church is no longer operating and the cemetery hasn't had a burial for over 50 years. It is unknown if there are any sexton records available for review. This cemetery has been declared a historical cemetery. It is surrounded by fence with the gateway on the north side. There is one majestic, tall cottonwood tree located in the southeast corner of the cemetery, standing silent guard over the graves. This is a very large cemetery, with very few graves. It is mown, keeping the grass to a low level.
