Elkins Familyof Dover Missourisubmitted by Virginia Thelma Kathleen Elkins b. 1915 to Orville Arthur Elkins and Pearl May Steele who were married in 1914. Thelma is still living in MO. Orville Arthur was b. 17 Feb 1895 and d. Nov 1918 in Battle of Argonne Forrest in WWI. He and my grandmother, Pearl May Hitchens were divorced in 1915 and I have a copy of that divorce. Parents of Orville Arthur were William Richard Elkins b. 1870 California, MO d 1956 and Eliza (D?) Elkins . Other children were Hannah C. Elkins b 24 March 1897-deceased now but living after 1990 ; Mary D. Elkins Clark b 28 June 1899 d.18 Sept 1988 ; Herman R. Elkins b 12 Jan 1902; and Nora A. Elkins b 25 March 1904; William Morris Elkins b 26 Aug 1907 d 4 Sept 1907; Edith Ellen Elkins-b 31 Jan 1911; Joseph Elkins b 1914; Robert Edgar Elkins b. 8 May 1916-have his death date somewhere; and Howard Lee Elkins b 22 oct 1921 Have pictures of Orville Arthur at 2 yrs with sister Hannah -then less than one yr old. My aunt Thelma looks just like Orville in that picture. Have picture of Orville's name on wall for those killed in WWI or in AR gone Forrest and several war related pictures and letters as well. |
