GABRIEL FRIEND 1764 Land was purchased from the Indians.
CHARLES FRIEND 1765 Now Friendsville, Md.

JOSEPH TOMLINSON 1760 "Good Will" 100 acres on Braddock Road
WILLIAM WILTON ASHBY Ashby's Discovery near Gortner, Md., 1795. "Piney Bottom" which became permanent Ashby home.
JACOB FROMAN 1771 "Bad is the Best of It" 120 acres 1780 moved to Kentucky 1814, sold his Maryland farm to John Fike, Sr.
RICHARD HALL 1774 "Blooming Rose", Died 1791; 1797 Jacob Markley purchased Hall farm.
AARON PARKER Settled junction of the Braddock Road and Trail to Morgantown. Judge John Simkins bought the place in 1786 and operated an inn (hotel).
