- Memoriam
- Miss Minnie M. CRONISE, the subject of this notice, departed this life in
Walkersville, MD, March 10, 1889, in the 25th year of her age.
In early childhood, this beautiful and devout young lady lost her father and
mother, but not without sufficient competency to meet her future necessities.
For more than seventeen years, and up to the day of her death, she made her
home with the Misses Susan and Hattie RINEHART, two estimable Christian
ladies, who carefully guarded her early life; and, we are sure, there are
many who can testify to their faithfullness to the charge committed to
their care.
Twelve years ago she was converted to God, and joined the Walkersville
Protestant Church; and from that time up to the hour of her release from
earthly suffering, as all who knew her will assent, her life was a steady
growth in grace, and in the knowledge of her Savior. When we took charge
of the congregation, we found her the organist and the leading lady singer
in the choir. We have often, and with much profit, heard her sweet voice,
and seen her delicate hands moving over the keys of the instrument in the
sanctuary
- But how sad for us to know those hands are now forever motionless, and that
voice forever silent on earth; but from her pure life and her beautiful exit
into glory, we are satisfied she is today a happy participant in the songs of
the church of the first-born in heaven.
Her funeral was largely attended at the church in which she was an honored
member. The pastor conducted the services, assisted by Rev. S. M. HENCH,
of the Glade Reformed Church, after which she was laid to rest in the Mount
Olivet Cemetery, in Frederick, MD.
Among the many relatives left to mourn their loss is the aged grandmother,
Sister Annie CRONICE [sic] of Lewistown, MD, now in the 93rd year of her age.

My Dear Sir:
Not knowing it was customary for the clergy to furnish obituary notices of
their parishoners who pass from earth to the better life, until my attention
was called to the fact a short time since. I beg permission to insert in your
valuable journal the one above as published in the Baltimore Methodist Protestant,
of Miss Minnie M. CRONISE, whose excellencies of character will doubtless be
perpetuated in the living memories of many who live in Walkersville, MD.
Your Sincere Friend,
S. T. FERGUSON
