- The Work of Death - SLAGLE
- Mrs. Catharine A.V. SLAGLE died at her late residence near Morgan,
Howard county, Md., April 9, after a lingering illness of diabeties.
Funeral services over her remains were held in the Lisbon M.E. Church,
April 11, at 11 o'clock a.m. and were largely attended by her numerous
friends and acquaintances. The services were conducted by Rev. OURLEY,
assisted by Rev. KNIGHT, of the Patapsco circuit. Interment was made
in the McKendree Cemetery, near Cooksville.
The deceased was in her fifty-ninth year. She was a woman of admirable
Christian character and a member of the M.E. Church for a number of years.
During her late illness as she lay upon her bed of affliction, suffering
at times acute pain, there never escaped from her lips at any time a murmur
of complaint but always believing as the Bible teaches "That the Lord doth
all things well" and the greater the suffering she was called upon to bear
the brighter would her crown in Heaven be. The husband and children
who are left to mourn her departure find great comfort in the thought
that their separation is only for a short time, and then there will be
no pain or suffering nor separation by where souls will live on in endless
bliss throughout eternity.
