1837-1850
This is an index to the Chancery Court Records of Carroll County, Maryland, and are housed at the Maryland State Archives in Annapolis. These are not wills, but are court proceedings to settle estates, obtain title, petition to sell or divide land, foreclosures and injunctions. This can be a great source for obtaining genealogical information, sometimes for three generations, as well as land data. If your ancestor did not have a will, there may be a record of him here if he owned real estate. Archive references are provided to locate them there.
