"In the Name of God Amen I John Adam Shaver of Baltimore County the State of Maryland being sick and weak of Body but of sound mind and memory Thanks be to God and calling to mind Mortality of this Body and that it is appointed for all men Once to Die.  I therefore make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the manner and Form Following.  Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it me and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in Decent Christian Burial and touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give Devise and Dispose of the same in following manner and Form  I will and Bequeath unto my Mother Apolonia Cooper my whole Estate till my Brother Abraham Shaver comes of age and then Abraham Shaver to pay to the Rest of the Children according to his Father's Will agreeable to the Appraisement of the Land  I do will and Bequeath unto my Brother Abraham Shaver my Horse Saddle and Bridle.  I do also Will and Bequeath unto my Brother Abraham Shaver a Tract or parcel of Land known by the name of Adam Shaver's ?? Design.  I do will and appoint my Mother Apolonia Cooper my whole Executrix and I do hereby utterly Disalow Revoke and Disannul all and every other Former Testament Wills Legacys and Executors by me in any wise before made named Willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand Seal this 20 day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Three ~ ~
