WALLIS,[top line of text is cut off]
only three hours, MARY WALLIS, in the 58th year of her age, of heart
disease, which she bore with Christian fortitude. May she rest in
peace.
Human hands have tried to save thee,
Sighs and tears were all in vain;
Happy angels came and bore thee
From this weary world of pain.
Fold the waxen hands together,
Close the soft and dreamy eyes;
See, how like a broken lilly,
Pale and beautiful, she lies.

of the family are cordially invited to attend.

Fold the robe closely about the still form,
Press the cold lips, which love's kiss cannot warm;
Tears drop like rain on the beautiful head,
Fond hearts are weeping, for father is dead.
Farewell, father, thou hast left us,
For a bright and heavenly sphere;
Providence hast thus bereft us
Of a friend and father dear.
Farewell, father, we, in sadness,
'Round thy lifeless body stand;
While thy spirit waits in gladness,
In the bright and heavenly land.
Farewell, father, gently sleeping,
With a smile upon thy brow,
Which does seem to chide our weeping
For thee, who art happy now.
Farewell, father, thy calm features
Plainly tell us all is well;
Yet it pains our hearts to leave thee,
And to say the last farewell.
Farewell, father, may we meet thee
Where the heavenly chorus swells;
'Midst the happy we will greet thee,
Never more to say farewell.
