I know he lived in Little Orleans for a while,
probably owned a farm there. He was Catholic, so should be buried in the area.
Thanks for your help.

Hello: I am new to your list, and actually have a relative born in
Allegany Co., MD. I hope someone out there can help. I am searching for my gg
grandfathers family. His name was: Dennis BAUGHMAN born June 6, 1838 in Allegany
Co., MD. He was married to Lidabell BEAL in 1860. They lived in Southampton
Township, Somerset Co., Penn when they were first married. Now, they had 7
children and Cordellia, and Elizabeth were both born in Maryland. What was
Dennis's connection to Maryland? Were his parents from there? If any BAUGHMAN
researchers have a Dennis in their family or even if you are a BAUGHMAN with a
possible connection to my Dennis, please e-mail me. What I do know is that
Dennis and Lidabell (Liddy, Lydia) moved to Fayette Co., Penn and raised the
rest of their family. Both are buried in Ohiopyle, Fayette Co., Penn. Thanks in
advance for your time.

Hello, I am researching the BONE family from Cumberland, Allegany County, MD. My
great-great grandmother, Elizabeth BONE, was born in 1844 in Allegany County.
Her parents were probably Martin and Deliah BONE. Martin was the son of Martin
Sr. who more than likely was the son of Daniel BONE. Daniel is first recorded on
the 1820 census. I am interested in corresponding with anyone connected to the
BONE family. Martin and Deliah moved to Londonderry Twp., Bedford County in the
1850's. Elizabeth married John KENNEL in 1859 in Southampton Twp., Somerset
County. Family lore states that we are related to the BOON family (BOONE) of
Reading, Berks County, PA. Often, my great-great grandmother's name was written
as BOON/BONE. Any interest, please email me.

Hello, My grandfather , John Hiram COLEMAN was born in
Cumberland, Allegany County Maryland on the 12 Dec. 1849 and was orphaned
sometime before the 1860 census. His death certificate lists his parents as
Jesse Hiram COLEMAN and Margaret KELLY born about 1831 both in Maryland. Being
orphaned at such a young age, he didn't remember much about his family, but was
thought to have 3 brothers and a sister. Any help running these down would be
appreciated. On the 1850 Allegany Co. census he and his parents were living in
the household of Jeremiah and Liza Ann COLEMAN born about 1805 and 1796.
Jeremiah was born in PA and is shown on the 1830 census as living in Cumberland,
but is not shown on the 1840 census, but is shown on the 1850 census. Did they
just miss him?Does anyone have information on this family or other COLEMANs or
KELLYs living in Cumberland at this time? Or does anyone have a cemetery
inventory of this area that deaths and dates could be found?Would like to
correspond with anyone with information about COLEMANs or KELLYs.

My g-grandfather John HOPBELL (HOPPELL) b. 1834 from Germany (area unknown)
arrived in the States circa 1846. Settled in Lonaconing as a miner, married
(year ?) Martha Isabella (surname ?)number of children ? died 1919. His son
Philip (my g-father) b.March 1862 was also a miner, died of pulmonary disease in
1911, In 1885 married Ann KIRKPATRICK (b.1864. d. 1940, Allegheny Co. Pa.)Three
sons out of six children: Philip 1887, William 1889,& John Earl 1893, all sons
worked in the mines beginning at age 9 until the 1914, when the family moved to
Turtle Creek, Allegheny Co. Pa. for industrial work for Westinghouse
Corporation. I was told that many miners left Lonaconing to find safer work in
Industries of the Pittsburgh area: Westinghouse Electric Corp., Westinghouse
Airbrake, and U.S. Steel Ann's father (my ggfather) William KIRKPATRICK, b 1839,
Scotland arrived in Lonaconing about 1864 and worked in the mines. I would like
to learn more about William KIRKPATRICK, his wife Jennette (surname ?)b.in
Glasgow Scotland. Apparently William and his sons: John b 1860 Scotland, William
b.1861 Scotland, and Andrew b 1875 Lonaconing, were all miners. Would like to

The cemetery records for my
ggg-grandfather Zachariah GREEN state that he was born on Feb 29, 1816 in
Frostburg, Maryland. He married Elise Riddlemoser in 1843 in Tuscarawas County,
Ohio. He died there in Jan 1890. Family history says that his father's name was
William. I do not know if he had any brothers or sisters and have found no trace
of William in Ohio. This is the last piece of the family history I have to prove
out (and then I'm on my own as far as further research). Everything else I have
been told I have proved as true, so I have no reason to doubt the William. I
have records of all of Zachariah's descendants, but am at a brick wall as to his
father and mother. Do any birth records exist for this time frame? Where is a
good place to start researching? Any help would be appreciated.
