An Estimable Woman is Dead

Mrs. Young, Wife of Mr. Jno. W. Young Passes Away

Family Grief-stricken

Mrs. Young was operated upon Tuesday for a Serious Trouble, but the Family Had Every Hope of Recovery Until Yesterday

Mrs. Mary Jane Young, wife of Clerk of the Circuit Court John W. Young, died last night at ten minutes of nine o'clock at the Western Maryland Hospital, where she was operated upon Tuesday morning for uraemic poisoning and appendicitis.

Although Mrs. Young had suffered to a greater or less extent for a long time, her death was quite unexpected, as the real seriousness of her case was not known until yesterday.

Mrs. Young was in the 48th year of her age. She was a woman noted for her active Christian life and motherly devotion, ad her death has nearly prostrated her husband and thrown a home of cheerfulness into a house of mourning.

The deceased was a member of the Centre Street Methodist Episcopal church and one of the most active members of the same.

Mrs. Young was not only a lovable woman and devoted to her home but she had a wide acquaintance and won her way to the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Mrs. Young was born at Barton, MD., where she married Mr. Young in 1878, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mrs. Andrews, the latter of whom survives her. She also leaves her husband, the present Grand Master of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Maryland, and the following children: Mr. James A. Young, a traveling salesman: Mrs. Robert Feaga and Mr. Joseph W. Young, assistant to his father at the court house, all of Cumberland, and Mr. Edgar W. Young of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad legal department, Baltimore. Her surviving brothers and sisters are: Mr. Joseph Andrews, of Macon City, Mo.; Jas. A. Andrews, Westernport, Md. or Ind.; Mr. Geo. W. Andrews, Moscow, Md.; Messrs. Robert and William Andrews, Barton; Mrs. Calvin Shockley, Moore, W. VA., Mrs. Peter Wilson, wife of the superintendent of the county home; Mrs. E. M. Lewis, Cumberland and Mrs. Wm. M. Somerville, Barton.

The funeral rites will be conducted by Rev. Edward Hayes, of Centre St. M.E. Church, assisted by Rev J. L. Walsh, Baltimore, the minister who married Mr. and Mrs. Young.

The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, 20 Cumberland Street. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
