George Washington ANDREWS

George Washington ANDREWS was born February 20, 1858. He worked in the coal mines. He married Mary Jane SHAW May 20, 1880. They had seven children. George Andrews, of Moscow Mills, visited his son [probably Joseph] of Charleroi, PA. [per Evening Times, Dec 1905]. He died 1909 in Barton, Md.

Mr. George W. Andrews Died This Morning After Lingering Illness

Mr. George W. Andrews died this morning at 6:55 at his late residence at Moscow, this county, aged about 50 years. Mr. Andrews was ill nearly a year, yet bore his affliction with true Christian fortitude. He was not only a useful citizen but was influential and prosperous, and numbered his friends by the hundred. He was a Republican in politics and was a great party worker. He followed mining at one time, but having gained a competence, had be leading a retired life for some time. He belonged to a prominent family. His wife, who survives, was Miss Shaw, daughter of Mr. John Shaw. Besides a wife he leaves the following children: Howard, of Lonaconing; William Osborn Andrew, Moscow; Joseph, Pittsburg; George, Calvin, Aleda and Dora, all of Moscow, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Calvin Shockey, McComas, W. Va; Mrs. Peter Wilson, Cumberland; Mrs. E. M. Lewis, Cumberland; Mrs. Florence Somerville, Barton; Joseph Andrew, Macon, Mo.; James and William Andrew, Barton. The late Mrs. John W. Young was a sister.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
