ADAMS, Mrs. Margaret A., consort of A. M. ADAMS, of this city and daughter of the late John J. HOFFMAN, died on Tuesday, May 16th in the 41st year of her age - 31 May 1865

AGNEW, Mr. Theodore P. of Parkersburg, WV, and Miss Sidney PERCY of this city, were married on the 18th of January by the Rev. A.J. WEDDELL - 24 Jan 1866

ATZEROTT, George A., hanged under sentence of the Military Commission on the 7th of July 1865 in Washington, DC, for the assassination of President Abraham LINCOLN. - 12 July 1865

BAITSON, Mr. Isaac and Miss Mary ELLIS, daughter of Rev ELLIS of the Baptist Church, were married at the Maryland Mines 29 March, by the Rev. A.H. WAUGH. 11 Apr 1866

BAKER, Mr. Jonathan and Miss Rebecca NEWMAN, both of Allegany County, were married on the 19th day of June by Rev. W.T. DUMM. 28 June 1865

BARCHUS, Joseph T.G. and Miss Adeline KING, both of this county were married by Rev. A.J. WEDDELL at Adams House. 17 August 1864

BARNES, Mr. Leroy S. of Delaware, Ohio, and Miss Alice H. BOEHM of Cumberland, were married Tuesday 23rd of August by Rev. E. Owen SIMPSON. 31 August 1864

BARRY, Major, former agent of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad recently died in Richmond, VA. of dropsy. He was well-known in this city. 17 August 1864

BARTLETT, Mrs. Caroline H., died at Oakland, MD. in the 62nd year of her age on the 27th of September. 19 Oct 1864

BATTER?, Rev. Dennis H., of the Methodist Episcopal Church, died in Baltimore on the 8th of March, aged 80 years. He, some years since, resided in Cumberland. 15 March 1865

BAYLEY, Richard P., late editor and proprietor of the Annapolis Gazette and some years since one of the publishers of the Alleganian, died in Baltimore of pneumonia on the 30th of January, aged 65 years. 6 February 1867

BEALL, Gustavus, died at his residence in this city on the 31st of December in the 76th year of his age. 3 January 1866

BENJAMIN, Mr. Park, died at New York in the 55th year of his age. He was born in Demarara in British Guiana. He studied two years at Harvard and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford in 1829 and began to practice law in 1832 in Boston. He removed to New York in 1837 and was connected with several Journal American Monthly Magazines, the New Yorker and The New Word. He was one of the original editors of the New England Magazine. 21 September 1864

BERKLEY, Mr. George and Miss Louisa REED, all of this city, were married on the 17th of April at the Methodist Episcopal Parsonage, 38 Bedford Street, by the Rev. E. KINSEY. 25 April 1866

BIGELOW, Major J.C. of New York and Miss Eugenia WHITE, daughter of the late T.F. White of this city, were married on the 26th of October by the Rev. William ORRICK. 8 Nov 1865

BLOCHER, Mrs. Amanda, wife of George M. Blocher of his city died the 15th instant aged 54 years. 17 Aug 1864

BLOCHER, Mr. George, died Tuesday 19th of December, aged 90 years and 4 months. 3 January 1866

BLOCHER, Mr. Henry W. and Miss Laura V. SHURLES, both of Baltimore, were married on the 21st of November by Rev. B. PEYTON. 6 Dec 1865

BLOCHER, Mr. George M., a well known resident of this city, died at Indianapolis, Indiana, yesterday while temporarily absent from home on business. 22 August 1866

BLUE, Mr. Isaac B. and Miss Susan M. GUTHRIE, both of this city were married on the 31st of October by the Rev. G.H. VOSSELER. 8 November 1865

BOOSE, A.J., Esq., died at his residence in this city on the morning of the 14th instant in the 41st year of his age. 20 March 1867

BORDEN, Honorable N.B. of Fall River, Massachusetts, died last week in the 55th year of his age. He was formerly a member of Congress and one of the proprietors of BORDEN COAL MINES in this county. 19 August 1865

BOSLEY, Mrs. Honor, relict of the late William Bosley of Baltimore County, died at Oakland in Allegany County on the 7th of April in the 84th year of her age. 26 April 1865

BRADLEY, Father James, was one of three priests and two students drowned Monday afternoon the 9th instant, at Annapolis when their boat overturned during a gale. 18 July 1866

BRADY, Mr. Isaac T. and Miss Sallie PARSONS both of Romney, WV, were married in Georgetown, DC on the 18th instant by the Rev. Dr. TILLINGHAST. 27 September 1865

BRADY, Mr. James B. aged 31 years died at his residence in Mineral County, WV on the 4th of August. 8 August 1866

BRAY, Mr. John, died at his residence near Wilson's Hill in this county on the 8th of June. He was a soldier of the War of 1812. 13 June 1866

BROWN, Mr. William, aged about 70 died at his residence in Hagerstown on the 15th of January. 25 January 1865

BRUCE, Henry, Esq aged about 65 died Friday last at his residence near this city. For a number of years before 1831 he was Clerk of the Court of Allegany County. 20 September 1865

BUCKEY, Mr. James A. and Miss Louisa P. MAYER both of this city were married on the 14th instant by the Rev. A.J. WEDDELL. 15 Nov 1865

BURGER, Mr. William H.H. of VA and Miss Julia B. RIZER of this city were married on the 14th instant by the Rev. AJ WEDDELL. 24 May 1865

CARLETON, Nicholas B., son of Henry D. and Mary Ellen Carleton, died on the 12th of January in the 11th year of his age. 17 January 1866

CARLOS, Mrs. ____, widow of the late P. Carlos of this city died the 27th of August. 31 August 1864

CARMACK, Mr. Samuel Philip, aged about 32 died at his residence in Westernport the 13th of March. He leaves a wife and three children. 21 March 1866

CATRON, Mr. Robert, aged 57 years died September 12 in Hannibal, Marion County, Missouri. He was a former resident of Cumberland. 12 October 1864

CAYLOR, Mr. Adam and Miss Elizabeth Ann LARGENT, both of Hampshire County, WV, were married on the 3rd of April by the Rev. E. KINSEY. 10 April 1867

CHAMBERS, Ezekiel F. died at his residence in Kent County on the 30th of January in the 79th year of his age. He was a Senator in Congress from 1826 to 1834 and from 1834 to 1851 he was one of the Judges of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. 6 February 1867

CHANEY, Mr. Henry C. and Miss Kate G. JORDAN of Grafton, WV, were married on the 26th of July by Rev. A.J. WEDDELL. 8 August 1866

CHARLTON, Rev. J.W. of the M..P. Church (formerly of Cumberland), was married to Miss Mollie C. FARROW daughter of the Rev. W.H. FARROW of Snow Hill, MD on the 6th instant by the Rev. J.L. MILLS. 22 March 1865

CLAESSENS, Father Louis, one of the three priests and two students that drowned Monday afternoon the 9th instant at Annapolis when their boat overturned during a gale. 18 July 1866

CLARK, Mr. George, an old and respected citizen of Cumberland died Sunday last after a lingering illness. 7 June 1865

CLARY, Richard L., son of ADEN CLARY, Esq., died on the 11th instant at Moorefield, WV in the 24th year of his age from the effects of wounds recently received in a skirmish between part of Captain McNEILL's Company and the Federal Forces near that place. 22 June 1864

CLEPSTINE, Dr. L.F., died at his residence "Sandy Springs" in this county on Wednesday last in the 79th year of his age. He was a widely known physician and represented this county in the legislature many years ago. 11 April 1866

COAKLEY, Mr. Daniel and Miss Caroline M. CONNERS both of this city were married by Rev. S.W. SEARS. 21 Sep 1864

COCHRAN, Honorable Silas Morris, one of the Judges of the Court of Appeals of Maryland died at his residence in Baltimore in the 47th year of his age on the 16th of December. He was a native of New Hampshire. 19 Dec 1866

COMPTON, Mr. David of Grantsville, died the 13th instant from injuries received from the bursting of his threshing machine the previous day. 29 August 1866

COOKUS, Mr. John T., formerly a resident of this city died at Berkley Springs, VA on the 31st of December last. 10 Jan 1866 - Berkley Springs was in WV in 1866

CORNELL, Mr. Archibald, and Miss Hannah WILLIS, both of Hardy County were married on the 31st of October at the Barnum House by Rev. S.W. SEARS. 8 Nov 1865

COUTER, Mr. Robert, and Miss Catharine BART both of this city were married on the 15th instant by Rev. S.W. SEARS. 23 Nov 1864

COUTHARD, Mr. John J. and Miss Margaret GAUMER both of Allegany County were married on the 1st instant at the residence of Mr. TAYLOR by the Rev J.H.A. KITZMILLER. 7 March 1866

DURST, Elisha, Esq., Collector of State and County Taxes for Allegany County, died at the St. Nicholas Hotel in this city on the 6th of April, of typhoid fever. 10 Apr 1867

DUVALL, Dr. Edmund of Montgomery County, and Miss Marian Lee, daughter of R.D. JOHNSON, Esq. of this city were married March 16th at Emmanuel Church by Rev. Mr. PERINCHIEF. 22 Mar 1865.

EAST, Rev. Robert W., Pastor of the Baptist Church, aged 32 years died in this city on the 21st of June. His remains were conveyed to his former home near Richmond, VA. for interment. 27 Jun 1866

FAIRALL, Richard, of this county was killed in an accident in the sawmill near Swanton today. He was born in Prince George's County in 1790 and came to Allegany County in 1830/31. 27 Nov 1865

FARRELL, Norman, son of John Farrell, Esq, of Grantsville died Friday from a gunshot wound. 29 Jun 1864

FECHTIG, Mr. Levi R. of Cumberland and Miss Mary E. CAIN of Canton, Ohio, were married at Canton on the 6th of February by the Rev. Jesse DURBIN. 14 Feb 1866

FIELDS, Mr. R.A. of Cleveland, Ohio and Miss Amanda DEETZ of this city were married by Rev. S.W. SEARS on the 15th instant. 23 Nov 1864
