Benjamin Luther CLARK, 74, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at his home near Providence, following several months' illness. He was a retired farmer. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Paul Reed, Providence, with whom he made his home, Mrs. William ZIEGLER of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Hubert CROWELL of Spring City, Tenn., and Mrs. Marie SIVIK, Detroit, Mich.; a son, Harley Clark, Shelbyville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two brothers, William Clark of Charleston and Dan Clark, Evansville. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Melton Funeral Home, with Elder J.N. DARNELL of Cadiz officiating. Burial was in Fox cemetery, near Providence.

Mrs. Elizabeth CLARK, 66, of Diamond died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday in Cardwell's Clinic following a long illness. Surviving are the husband, Fred; one son, Roy of Providence; two daughters, Mrs. James SAGE of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. James C. BRANTLEY, Providence; one sister, Mrs. R.L. BOTELER, Blackford; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The body is at Tapp Funeral Home in Providence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Diamond Baptist church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK officiating, assisted by the Rev. James ALDERSON. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, near Blackford. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, January 31, 1952. Compiler's note: Fred D. Elmon L. CLARK, 42, died at the home of his parents, Mrs. and Mrs.
Luther Clark, near Dixon, Sunday at 3:15 p.m. He had been in ill
health for some time, and returned last month from the south where he
had been working. Survivors are the parents, wife, Lucille, of
Henderson; a son, Frank Warren Clark of Oakland, Calif.; and a
half-brother, Gaylon Clark of Evansville. Funeral services were to be
held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the General Baptist church in
Dixon, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Madisonville officiating. Burial
was to be in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon. Providence Journal-Enterprise,

Eloise CLARK, 6, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Minvil CLARK of Greenville, formerly of the Little Zion section, died Tuesday night in the Greenville hospital following a tonsillectomy which she underwent Tuesday. Survivors besides the parents are a sister, Barbara, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clark, near Dixon. The body was brought Wednesday afternoon to the home of the grandparents to remain there until time for the funeral, which will be held today in Little Zion church. Burial will be in Little Zion cemetery.

George Buford CLARK, sr., 67, near Evansville, former Webster county resident, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in an Evansville hospital. Survivors are the wife, Maude; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell ADAMS, Evansville; three sons, Joe Ben and Thomas, of Evansville, and Capt. George B. Clark, jr., U.S. Army, in Germany; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Zona BRANSON, Dixon; and two brothers, Otis Clark, of Beaver Dam, and Choice Clark, of Dixon. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Little Zion church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK, of Diamond, and the Rev. C.A. HOY, of Evansville, officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon. George Gilbert CLARK, 80, died suddenly about 1 o'clock Saturday morning in his home in Clay. Mr. Clark had returned from a trip to a grocery and was taking a nap while Mrs. Clark prepared the noon meal. When she called him for lunch she found he had passed away. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Mary Clark; two sons, Marlin and Carvill Clark; one daughter, Mrs. Verbel HOLLOMAN, all of Clay and the Clay country; two grandchildren; one brother, Amos Clark of Oregon; and one sister, Mrs. Della HURLEY of Alton, Ill. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Sunday afternoon in the Little Zion General Baptist church, of which he was a member, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Diamond officiating. Funeral services for Elder Gilson D. CLARK, 84, formerly of Providence, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Beshears Funeral Home in Dawson Springs. Elder J.W. DARNELL of Cadiz officiated and burial was in Fox cemetery, near Providence. Elder Clark, Primitive Baptist minister for over 40 years, died the previous Monday at the home of a son, Boaz Clark, in Dawson Springs after five days of illness. Surviving besides the son are two other sons, Ben of Bowling Green and Ashby of Princeton; six daughters, Mrs. Maud PEARSON and Mrs. Mary MAIN of San Pedro, Calif., Mrs. Ester CREEKMUR and Mrs. Ann Eliza ZSCHAU of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ammer JONES of Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Mellie Mae BUSH of McKeesport, Pa.; and a sister, Mrs. Eliza DRENNAN of Providence. H.O. CLARK, 78, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday at his home in Sebree. Survivors are the wife, Cora; a son, Paul of Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie ROYSTER and Mrs. Dorothy SELLERS of Robards; and two brothers, Frank of Steelville, Ill., and Roscoe of Evansville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Sebree, with the Rev. J.F. RAKE of Evansville officiating, assisted by the Rev. O.W. LASATER, pastor of the church. Burial was in Springdale cemetery in Sebree.

Isaiah Luna CLARK, 67, died suddenly of a heart attack at 5 a.m. Sunday in his home in Clay. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Lena NALL Clark; two daughters, Mrs. Lonnie CORBIN, Paducah, and Mrs. Victor COOK, Owensboro; one son, Denver Clark of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alice FARLEY of Clay, Mrs. Dealie JOHNSON of Smithland, and Mrs. Robert KENNEDY of Eldorado, Ill. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Clay Methodist church, of which he was a member, with the pastor, the Rev. Carl H. McGEE, officiating. Mrs. Lula CLARK, 71, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday at her home near Diamond. She was a minister in the Holiness Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby CATES and Mrs. Viola TODD, Providence rural route, and Mrs. Gaither HARRIS, Henderson rural route; a son, Robert Clark, Lake Ozark, Mo.; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Naomi DAY, Madisonville; and a brother, Chester JACKSON, Madisonville. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home, with the Rev. Oscar DUNCAN of Manitou officiating, assisted by the Rev. Chester R. JACKSON of Madisonville. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Madisonville.

Miss Mary Vellar CLARK, 78, of Dixon died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday in an Evansville hospital following a four weeks illness.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Zonia BRANSON; four brothers, Buford Clark of Evansville, D.N. Clark of Clay, J.O. and C.B. Clark
of Dixon. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Little Zion church, with the Rev. W.W. OAKLEY of Poole and the
Rev. E.G. SISK of Diamond officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.

Mrs. Melissa CLARK, 75, died Monday afternoon at her home near Dixon. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Mary
TROTTER, of Indianapolis, Ind., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Little Zion church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Diamond officiating. Burial was in Rock Style cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah CLARK, 78, widow of H.N. Clark of the Little Zion community, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital in Henderson. Survivors are two sons, Lilvin of Henderson, and the Rev. Minvil Clark of Clay; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The body is at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon.

Sue Catherine CLARK, 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Clark of Cairo, who until recently lived in the Little Zion section,
died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday in the home of her parents after a four-day illness. Survivors are the parents; two sisters,
Ruth Ann and Cora Frances; one brother, Ronald Wayne; and grandmother, Mrs. Cora Clark of Henderson. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Little Zion church, with the Rev. Nealey PEARCY of Dixon officiating, assisted by
the Rev. W.W. OAKLEY of Poole. Burial will be in Little Zion cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, July

William Franklin CLARK, aged 63, died at Wheatcroft Monday,
April 3, and was buried the following Wednesday at the Clark
graveyard, near Prospect school in this county. His home had
been in this section all his life until he moved to Wheatcroft
about a year ago. He was a farmer and veterinary [sic]. He
was the oldest son of Marion Clark and Emily Crider Clark. He
is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Beulah LAND; two sons,
Charlie and Audrie; one sister, Mrs. Iley P. ORR of Marion; and
two brothers, Edward E. and Fred Clark, both of Webster Co.

Mrs. Clarkie Jane (Jennie) CLAYTON, 85, died at her home in the Liberty section near Providence at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday following
a month's illness. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J.L. Clayton, Hanson, and Miss Gertrude Clayton, Liberty section; and six
sons, D.P., Herbert, and Kermit Clayton, Providence, R.E., of Nebo, F.M., of Chicago, Ill., and W.C. Clayton of Crown Point, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Tirza church, with the Rev. Gordon HEARON of Clay officiating. Burial was in

Mrs. Lucy T. CLAYTON, 77, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Carl HARKINS, in Providence. She had been a Christian since early childhood. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. George BARNES, of Plymouth, Mich., Mrs. Eddie ALMON, of Louisville, and Mrs. Harkins; five sons, Lonnie, of Providence, Ernest and George, of Henderson, Lloyd and Davis, of Evansville; fifteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Baptist church, with the pastor, the Rev. Albert KEMP, officiating. Burial was in Olive Branch cemetery in Hopkins County.

Nancy Kay CLAYTON, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Clayton, Dixon Route 2, was stillborn Tuesday morning in Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville. Surviving are the parents, a brother and sister, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Virge TEAGUE and Mrs. W.T. Clayton, Providence. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the grave in Tirzah cemetery, with the Rev. Arch OLIVER officiating.

Wright Turner CLAYTON, 79, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at his home on North Broadway following an illness of several months. He was born September 13, 1874, son of John and Sarah Clayton. He was married November 22, 1892 to Miss Genoa TOWNSEND, who survives. He had been an elder in the Primitive Baptist Church for a period of fifty years. Surviving besides the wife are four daughters, Mrs. Finis HINKLE, Providence Route 1, Mrs. John FIKE of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. S.G. HARRALSON of Nebo, and Mrs. D.L. BALL of Oak Park, Ill.; five sons, Otis of Oak Park, Ill, Wallace of Nebo, John A., R.G., and Raymond Clayton, Providence rural route; 18 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert DUNCAN, Latona Beach, Fla., and Mrs. W.T. MITCHELL of West Point; and a brother, Proctor Clayton of Dixon. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tirza Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder L.P. HARRIS of Duquoin, Ill., officiating, assisted by Elder John SIMPSON of Granite City, Ill. Burial was in Tirza cemetery. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, Feburary 25, 1954. Compiler's note: Genoah Townsend Clayton, 26 Sep 1879-20 May 1960 is buried next to Wright Turner Clayton, 13 Sep 1874-21 Feb 1954, in Tirzah Cemetery. Webster County records list a marriage between W.T. Clayton and Genoah Townsend 23 Nov 1893, not 1892 as stated in the obituary.
John CLEMENTS of Wauchula, Fla., who spent some time here last summer visiting his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Coy Clements, died suddenly Monday morning shortly after entering a hospital there. Funeral and burial were in Wauchula.

Joan CLEVENGER, two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isom Clevenger, Providence, died in an Evansville hospital
Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 from leakage of the heart. The child had been admitted to the hospital that morning after
having been ill for some time. Two brothers and five sisters survive in addition to the parents. The funeral and burial will
be held this afternoon at 6 o'clock at Cullen's graveyard with the Rev. Porter COLE officiating.

Ories F. CLINE, 66, Providence, died at 3 a.m. Monday at Outwood Veterans Hospital following a long illness. He had an apartment over Niswonger's Store here. His son, Hurtis Cline, only immediate survivor, had not been located Wednesday morning. He was thought to be looking for employment and could not be reached at the last available address. Funeral arrangements had not been made, pending contact with the son. Mr. Cline's wife, the former Jewel HUNT, died in 1942, and it is thought that he will be buried beside her in Shady Grove cemetery, Poole.
