Ida Belle BROADDUS, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Broaddus, died Friday morning at 11 o'clock in Cardwell's Clinic. Funeral services were held Saturday at White Oak church and burial was in White Oak cemetery.

Edd BROOKS, 71, retired farmer, was found dead at his home in Sebree at 3 p.m. Sunday. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Survivors are a son, Parker Brooks, Sebree; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Otho BRYANT, Sebree, and Mrs. Sallie TRICE, of Evansville; and three brothers, Bob, of Evansville, Jess, of Madison, Ill., and Ellis Brooks, Bisbee, Ariz. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian church in Sebree, and burial was in Springdale cemetery there. Providence Journal-Enterprise, Thursday, January 12, 1950.
Mrs. Ollie BROOKS, 79, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday at the home of a grandson, Norman WINSTEAD, near Dixon. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Alex OWENS, of Dixon, and Mrs. Ed KELLOUGH, Henderson; a brother, Noah HAWKINS, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two grandsons and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vandersburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK officiating. Burial was in Townsend cemetery. R.M. BROOKS, 67, formerly of Providence, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, in Portland, Ore., in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Al CAMPBELL, with whom he made his home. He had been ill for some time. Mr. Brooks, who left Providence a number of years ago, formerly operated a plumbing business here. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors besides the daughter are four sisters, Mrs. Leonard R. BURKELOW and Mrs. Mamye HUDSON, Providence, Mrs. Emma GRANT of Madisonville, and Mrs. Belle HOWELL of Barnsley; and two brothers, Champ Brooks, Barnsley, and Foster Brooks, Evansville. The body is expected to arrive in Providence this morning and is to be taken to the home of Mrs. Hudson on Oak street. Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Friday, with the pastor, the Rev. S.A. MATTHEWS in charge. Burial will be in Big Hill cemetery.

Robert L. BROOKS, 79, died at his home in Slaughters at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday following an illness of several months. He was an active member of the Methodist church, having served as superintendent of the Sunday School for a number of years and at the time of his death was teacher of the older Married Women's class. Survivors are his wife, Birdie; two daughters, Mrs. J.T. Cook and Mrs. Gus DUNVILLE; son, Joe Brooks; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held in the Slaughters Methodist church Thursday afternoon with the pastor, the Rev. L.F. PIERCEY, officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.E. HARTFORD. Pallbearers were: Robert Morgan Brooks, Joe Justice Brooks, R.L. Dunville, James HORNER, Emerson STULL, and Roland CARLISLE. Burial was in the Slaughters cemetery.

Robert L. BROOKS, 73, who formerly lived between Sebree and Slaughters, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday at his home in Evansville. Surviving are the wife, Nola; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert CRABTREE of Henderson and Mrs. Cranson HERRON of Slaughters; two sons, Conrad of Earlington and Cecil, at home; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, G.E. of Arizona and Jess of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; and a sister, Mrs. Fannie BRYANT of Sebree. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, with the Rev. Stephen COBB officiating. Burial was in Springdale cemetery in Sebree.

Robert Lee BROOKS, 76, retired farmer, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday at his home near Providence after a long illness. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. (unreadable) BONE, Nebo rural route, Misses Cora, Lizzie and Dudley Brooks, near Providence; a nephew, Robert Bone and niece, Miss Ruby Bone, Nebo rural route. The body is at Melton Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, with the Rev. Leslie CHAPMAN officiating. Burial will be in Slaughters cemetery.

Roy H. BROOKS, Jr., 34, died at 8:45 p.m. Thursday at his home in Dixon following a heart attack. Survivors are his father, Roy H. Brooks, Sr., Dixon; a half-brother, William Lee Brooks, Evansville; and grandmother, Mrs. Wiley Brooks, Dixon. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Missionary Baptist church in Dixon with the Rev. E.G. SISK, of Diamond, officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Dixon. Mrs. Ella THOMASSON BROWDER, 80 died at 11 p.m. Saturday at her home in the Corinth section. Mrs. Browder had been ill for three years and her death was not unexpected. She was born and reared in Dixon, attended school there, and taught for a number of years in the county schools. She professed faith in Christ as a child and became a member of the Presbyterian church. In 1916 she was married to C.L. Browder near Nebo. Surviving are the husband; one brother, J.C. Thomasson, Dixon; a step-daughter, Mrs. Claude WILLIAMS, San Francisco, Calif.; a step-son, Samuel Browder, San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren; two nieces, Mrs. Ed WILKERSON, of Dixon, and Miss Ila Brewer Thomasson, Washington, D.C.; a nephew, Glenn KERNOHAN, Indianapolis, Ind.; three great-nephews; and two great-nieces. Funeral services were held at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon at 1 p.m. Monday, with W.D. WHITLEDGE officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon.

Mrs. R.B. BROWDER, 89, former resident of Providence, died last Thursday at her home in Jonesboro, Ark., after a long illness. Survivors are a daughter, Miss Clara Browder, and a granddaughter, Miss Vada Browder, both of Jonesboro; three brothers, A.D. RAMSEY, of Long Beach, Calif., G.M. Ramsey, Clovis, N.M., and Wade Ramsey, Providence; and three sisters, Mrs. B.F. BUCHANAN, of Batava, Ark., Mrs. N.F. LISMAN, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. D.L. BARNHILL, Providence. Burial was in Hooker, Okla.

Mrs. D.L. BARNHILL received a telegram advising her of the death Tuesday of a nephew, Davis M. BROWDER , 62, son of Mrs. R.B. Browder, Jonesboro, Ark. Surviving besides the mother are his wife, Ola; a daughter, Vada; and a sister, Miss Clara Browder, all of Jonesboro. funeral and burial are set for today in Jonesboro.

Albert Coleman BROWN, 55, died at 9 p.m. Thursday in Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville where he was taken early that morning. He had been in ill health for several months but had been in critical condition only a few days. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Providence and had served twelve years in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Martin's Dry Cleaners. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dan DUNBAR of Clovis, New Mexico and Mrs. Clem SISK of Providence; three brothers, Bernice Brown, near Providence, Frank Brown of Providence and Holt Brown, Akron Ohio. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leslie CHAPMAN officiating, assisted by the Rev. E.L. DIXON of Edmonton and Elder Gordon HEARON of Clay. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie BROWN, 83, of Slaughters, who died Sunday morning at the home of her son, George Brown, in Madisonville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Old Salem church. The Rev. A.L. FRASER of Livermore, former pastor of Hanson Methodist church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. J.E. HARTFORD. Burial was in the church cemetery. Surviving are two sons, Herbert, near Slaughters, and George, Madisonville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Surviving besides Mrs. King are another daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth ASHBY, Hopkinsville; a son, Hubert Brown, near Slaughters; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Oscar OAKLEY, near Slaughters; and two brothers, Henry JONES and Larry Jones of Slaughters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Olive Branch church, near Hanson, with the Rev. L.B. WICE of Greenvillle officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

The body of Capt. Charles W. BROWN, who was shot down by the Communists in an unarmed training plane over the demilitarized zone of Korea August 17, arrived in Owensboro Sunday morning. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vernon Brown of Wheatcroft, was a passenger-observer in a small plane whose only other occupant was the pilot, Lt. Guy H. BUMPUS, of Jackson, Miss., who suffered head injuries in the crash. The plane was brought down by Red antiaircraft fire at a point about 12 miles east of Kumhwa, on the Central Korean front. The communists claim Brown was killed as a result of the crash. Bumpus was taken prisoner by the Reds but was released six days later after intervention by the United Nations Command. Brown's wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown is now residing in Owensboro and funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Stephen's Catholic Cathedral in Owensboro. The Rev. Lucian HAYDEN, assistant pastor, officiated. Prayers were said Monday evening at the funeral home. Both church and military services were held at the Catholic cemetery graveside. Prayers were said by the Rev. Father Hayden. The commander, chaplain, color guard and color bearers of the James L. Yates Post No. 9 took part. A military guard of honor presented the flag which had covered the coffin to the widow. A firing squad from Fort Knox fired a three-volley salute and a bugler, also from Fort Knox, sounded taps. Captain Brown is survived by his wife, his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Charlie Brown of Wheatcroft; two sisters, Mrs. Ora BEADLES, Springfield, Mo.; Mrs. David BAIRD, Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Chief Petty Officer George O. The Rev. Chester J. BROWN, 57, died at his home in Evansville on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Surviving are his wife, Francis; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel WITE, Mrs. Pearl JOHNSON, and Mrs. Nell WALTON, Evansville; two sons, Roy Brown, Evansville; and William Brown, Washington; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth CARNAL, Evansville, and Mrs. Jones ASHBY, Slaughters. Funeral services were held at Olive Branch Thursday afternoon at 2 o/clock with the Rev. ROBINSTON, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Wednesday following several days' treatment in an Evansville hospital.
Survivors are the husband, Pvt. Robert Brown, stationed at Camp
Campbell, Ky.; the parents; a daughter, Jackie Doris, one year; and
two sisters, Lucille Riley, Providence, and Mrs. Myrtle TAYLOR,
Detroit, Mich. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at
the General Baptist church, with the Rev. W.T. WINSTEAD in charge.

G.B. BROWN, 27, of Providence, was killed at 6 o'clock Saturday morning in a traffic accident near Erie, Mich., in which two other men lost their lives. He was driving a commercial carrier loaded with automobiles which collided with the truck in which the other men were riding. Mr. Brown was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors are the wife, the former Miss Dorothy Lee MARAMAN; four sons, Jerry Norman, Larry Douglas, Barry Lee, and George Michael; parents, Mrs. Grace Brown and W.I. Brown; one sister, Mrs. W.H. VILLINES, jr.; and three brothers, Thomas L., Dallas and Alton Brown, all of Providence. The body was brought to Melton Funeral Home and funeral services were held there at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Charlie HOWARD of Clay officiating. Members of Jack McDOWELL Post Veterans of Foreign Wars were pallbearers. Burial was in Big Hill cemetery.

Funeral services for Isaac Carl BROWN, 49, former Providence resident, who died May 14 at his home in Norwalk, Calif., were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Diamond Baptist church. The Rev. Johnie ROBISON officiated and burial was in White Oak cemetery. The body arrived at Melton Funeral Home Wednesday night and remained there until time for the funeral. Mr. Brown, son of Mrs. Minnie COFFMAN Brown and the late Robert Brown, had been living in California for the past seven years. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lenia MARTELLE of Swayze, Ind., and Mrs. Ruth MELTON, near Dixon; two sons, Claud D. Brown and John Lee Brown, Providence Route 3; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna CLARK, Abilene, Kans.; and a brother, Dave W. Brown, Dixon rural route. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Valley Church, with the Rev. Carl HARKINS officiating. Burial was in Cullen cemetery.

Kivil M. BROWN, 58, former Diamond resident, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, at his home in Evansville two hours after he suffered a heart attack. Mr. Brown was connected with Diamond Coal Company for 26 years. For the past nine years he had been foreman at Igleheart Brothers division, General Foods Corporation. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Cordie Brown; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sam POLLOCK, Madisonville; three sisters, Mrs. Caroline WILSON and Mrs. Evelyn POUNDS of Clay, and Mrs. Estora ROBINSON, Indianapolis, Ind.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home in Evansville, with Rev. E. Lacy SATTERFIELD officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Evansville.

Surviving are the wife, Minnie; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline TALLEY of Mentone, Calif., and Mrs. Louis SHORES of Yucaipa, Calif., two sons, John N. Brown, Providence rural route, and Carroll Brown, Cedar City, Utah; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie BABB of Evansville, Mrs. Dessie UTLEY of Providence, and Mrs. Macy WOOD, Repton; and one brother, William Brown, Providence. The body is at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Wednesday.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jim WATSON and Mrs. Rudy WHITLEDGE of Clay; six sons, Guy of Providence, Walter and Carmie of Evansville, Jesse of Detroit, Mich., Carrol of Athens, Ill., and Claude of Clay; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche DALTON, near Sturgis, and Mrs. Jerry COLLINS, near Clay; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at Clay First Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Bob WALLACE of Wheatcroft will offficiate, assisted by the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Mrs. Mattie James BROWN, 54, wife of Lynn Brown, died at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday at her home near Shady Grove. Survivors are the husband; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bassett BOYD, Shady Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia BAKER of Princeton, Mrs. Linnie WRING of Marion, and Miss Virginia Rose Boyd, at home; a son, Clyde V. Brown, of Sebree; seven grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Beulah McDOWELL of Madisonville and Mrs. Goldie LEET of Evansville. The body was taken Tuesday evening from Melton Funeral Home to Shady Grove Baptist church, of which she was a member, and remained there until funeral services at 2 pm. Wednesday. The Rev. Rupert UTLEY officiated. Burial was in Shady Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Mildred Lynn BROWN, 33, died at 9:10 p.m. Thursday in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. (Pat) VAUGHN, near Clay, after a lingering illness. Surviving besides the parents are the husband, Charles A. Brown of Henderson; one daughter, Charis Lynn Brown; and four brothers, Oyd Vaughn and Charles Thomas Vaughn of Clay, Ralph Vaughn of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Wendell Vaughn of Salvasa, KY. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon in the First Baptist church in Clay, with the pastor, the Rev. R.T. MILLER, officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay. Milton BROWN, 72, who had been ill for eleven years, died at his home near Slaughters at 1 p.m. Saturday. Surviving are the wife, Artie; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie KING, Slaughters, and Mrs. Elizabeth ASHBY, Madisonville; one son, Hubert, of Slaughters; four sisters, Miss Sallie Brown, of Hanson, Misses Camilla and Annie Brown and Mrs. Jenny JONES, Slaughters; and three brothers, Ebenezer, Dabney, and Tyler, of Slaughters. Funeral services were held at Olive Branch church at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. WICE, the pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie Bell Brown, 79, died Wednesday afternoon, May 26, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Buford KIRKWOOD, near Providence. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist church, near Hanson. Surviving besides Mrs. Kirkwood are two stepsons, Jack Brown of Providence and Jonah Brown, Herrin, Ill., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Byrd HAYWARD, Madisonville; a sister, Mrs. Carl WINEBARGER, Providence rural route; a brother, Pleasant COFFMAN, Henderson; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday in Victory Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rupert UTLEY of Madisonville, officiating, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. W.W. JOHNSON. Burial was in Union cemetery, Nebo.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Rock Springs Church, near Wheatcroft, with the Rev. Rupert UTLEY of Madisonville officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Survivors are the husband; two sons, Lonnie Edwin, 12, and Gary Dallas, 4; her mother, Mrs. Ona MEAZEL, Providence; one sister, Mrs. Richard PENROD, of Providence; and two brothers, Archie Ray and Delmer Meazel, Providence. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Primitive Baptist church, with the pastor, Elder Gordon HEARON, of Clay, officiating. Burial was in Cullen cemetery.

The infant daughter born prematurely Thursday morning to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne BROWN in an Evansville hospital, died at 11:45 a.m. She lived four hours. Survivors besides the parents are grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. Porter COLE and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown, Providence. A brief funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the grave in Corinth cemetery by the Rev. Albert KEMP.

William Henry BROWN, 69, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in his home on Church street after being in ill health for some time. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Brown, of Shady Grove, and was a member of the Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian church, the Shady Grove Masonic lodge and Royal Arch Masons at Earlington. Survivors are two sons, Marion, in the U.S. Army stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss., and Harlan, of Providence; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louis McCONNELL, of Tampa, Fla.; four brothers, Ellis, of Evanville, Lynn, of Shady Grove, and Dennis and Bryan Brown, of Providence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Baptist church at Shady Grove, with the Rev. G.A. HESTER officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove cemetery with Masonic rites conducted by the Providence and Shady Grove lodges.
