Charles H. BRACKETT, 77, former Providence resident, died Wednesday of last week at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Luna LONG, in Dayton, Ohio. Besides Mrs. Long, survivors are another daughter, Mrs. Myrtie TREMBLE of Dayton; two sons, William W. of Evansville, and Rollie H. Brackett of Dayton; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home in Providence, with the Rev. Benjamin CONNAWAY officiating. Burial was in Big Hill cemetery. Delbert BRACKETT, 41, of Henderson, former Webster county resident,
died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in an Evansville hospital, following a five
weeks' illness. Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Brackett,
Henderson; a sister, Mrs. Eula STEPHENS, Evansville; and four
brothers, Selton, Fred, Ed, and Oscar Brackett, all of Henderson.
Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the
Baptist church in Henderson, with the Rev. Herbert SCHMITZ
officiating, followed by burial in Mt. Lebanon cemetery, near Dixon.

Mrs. Jennie E. BRACKETT, 81, died at 12:30 this morning in the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Frank STULL, in Sebree, following several days'
critical illness. Survivors in addition to Mrs. Stull are two sons,
Welby and Ausie Brackett of Evansville; a brother, John RAY of
Sacramento; and four sisters, Mrs. Cleo SPARKS, Sacramento, Mrs.
Lizzie Brackett, Henderson, Mrs. Effie MILLER and Mrs. Fannie Miller
of Evansville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in
the Mt. Lebanon church, with the Rev. L.F. Piercy officiating. Burial

Mrs. Alice Lorene BRADEN, 48, died at 2:25 a.m. Thursday at her home in Diamond. Survivors are the husband, Elvis; two sons, Wilburn and Thomas, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Wayne VAUGHN, Louisville; Misses Edna Jewel and Joe Ann Braden, at home; three brothers James DORRIS, Eldorado IL; R.C. Dorris, Diamond; Charles Ed Dorris, Evansville; seven sisters, Mrs. Hattie HOLLAND, Dekoven; Mrs. Huron WILKERSON, Dixon; Mrs. Donald LAMPHERE, Indianapolis IN; Mrs. Otto TODD and Mrs. Cletus VAN BEXTER, of Evansville; Misses Prudie and Retta Dorris, of Owensboro; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Diamond Baptist Church with the Rev. E. G. SISK officiating. Burial was in Cullen Cemetery. William Essell BRADEN, 52, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home on Church street following an illness of three months. Surviving are the wife, Nannie; two sons, Cletis, Providence, and David, Princeton; father, George Braden, Providence; three grandchildren; four brothers, Elvie and George of Diamond, Wallace and J.N. Braden, Providence; and six sisters, Mrs. Charlie NICHOLS and Mrs. Sam McCLAIN of the Liberty section, Mrs. Herman CAPSHAW of Providence, Mrs. Elder ADCOCK of Hawaiian Islands, Mrs. Lottie HOOK of Madisonville, and Mrs. Collie CALLAWAY of Evansville. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist church, of which he was a member. The Rev. George GASS of Nortonville officiated, assisted by the Rev. W.T. CRUMBAKER and the Rev. J.W. ROBISON of Madisonville. Burial was in Lakeview cemetery.

Mrs. Carrie Mae BRADFORD, 79, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the home of a half-sister, Mrs. S.E. TRAYLOR, near Black Grove church. She was a member of the Baptist church in Uniontown. Surviving are five half-sisters, Mrs. Traylor, Mrs. S.T. MILLS of Morganfield, Mrs. J.A. VILLINES, near Lisman, Mrs. Percy DAVID of Uniontown, and Mrs. J.S. BOTTS, near Clay; and a half-brother, Harlan HOLT of Madisonville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church near Wheatcroft, with the Rev. Raymond HAZEL of Wheatcroft officiating.

Mrs. Virginia C. BRADLEY, 79, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at her home near Dixon following a brief illness. Survivors are three sons, W.O., of Henderson, N.E., of Clay, and Roy Bradley, near Dixon; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby VIRGIN, Clay, and Miss Rudie Bradley, at home; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy TODD of Henderson, Rural Todd of Dixon, and Matt Todd of Morganfield; and a sister, Mrs. Hattie GENTRY, of Dixon. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove General Baptist church, with the Rev. W.M. FRISBY of Providence officiating. Burial was in the Todd family cemetery, near Dixon.

great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary TROTTER, Indianapolis, Ind., and Mrs. Melissa CLARK, Dixon. Funeral services
were set for 2 p.m. this afternoon in Little Zion church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Diamond officiating. Burial was to be in Little

J.W. BRANSON, 82, died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday at his home in Onton. Surviving are the wife, Lizzie; two sons, Dalton and Hugh Grady of Onton; two brothers, Ed and Lilburn, of Evansville; and a sister, Mrs. Maggie WYNN, of Clarksville, Tenn. A brother, Jim Branson, of Evansville, died a week earlier in Marion, Ill., Veterans Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Onton Methodist church, with the Rev. T.O. KYLE officiating. Burial was in Onton cemetery.

Mrs. Annie BRANTLEY, 73, widow of the late Jesse Brantley, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Brantley, on West Main street. Mrs. Brantley was a charter member of the Providence General Baptist church. Surviving are four sons, Jimmy, of Providence, Herbert and Jesse, of South Bend, Ind., and Oather, of Evansville; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes RIDEOUT and Mrs. Frank HARRIS, of South Bend; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the General Baptist church, with the Rev. C.W. DUFFER officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, near Blackford.

Funeral services for Blue B. BRANTLEY, 68, of Wheatcroft, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Springs church, with the Rev. E.G. SISK of Dixon officiating. Burial was in Rock Springs cemetery. Mr. Brantley died at 10 p.m. Wednesday in an Evansville hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday morning undergoing treatment for self-inflicted shotgun wounds. Survivors are a daughter, Miss Mary D. Brantley of Wheatcroft; and a brother, Dow Brantley of Marissa, Ill.

Bob BRANTLEY, 36, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Blue Brantley of Wheatcroft, was killed in a mine accident at Gentryville, Ind.,
Tuesday morning. He was electrocuted while working on the big shovel at Tecumseh Coal Mine. Survivors are the wife, the former
Miss Edna CLARK; two daughters, Ruth Gale and LaFelle, Gentryville; the parents; a sister, Mary D. Brantley, Wheatcroft; and
two brothers, Charles Otis of Louisville and Frank Brantley. Funeral and burial were to be held in Gentryville today. Mr. and Mrs.
Blue Brantley and daughter went to Gentryville Tuesday after receiving news of his death.

Ed BRANTLEY, 81, died June 26 at his home in Wheatcroft. Survivors are the wife, Lola; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude MAYES, Sturgis; a son, Nathan, of Grand Rivers; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Hobard ROBINSON, Wheatcroft, and Mrs. Hattie HEFFINGTON, Henshaw; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Rosebud church, with the Rev. Clyde DEMPSEY officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.B. JOHNSON of Crittenden county. She was a member of Enon General Baptist Church in Crittenden county. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lena BABB of Evansville; two granddaughters, Mrs. Burton of Providence and Mrs. Hazel BRINKLEY of Morganfield; seven sisters, Mrs. J.H. MARTIN, Mrs. Curt FRAZER, Mrs. Joe FREEMAN, and Mrs. J.D. SPENCE of Providence, Mrs. Alex BROWN of Miami, Fla., Mrs. B.D. PLAYL of Madisonville, and Mrs. Reed McCONNELL of Chicago, Ill.; and her stepmother, Mrs. G.B. Johnson of Madisonville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove Union Church, with the Rev. W.M. FRISBY officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.O. STEWART and the Rev. Benjamin CONNAWAY. Burial was in Oak Grove cemetery.

Jesse BRANTLEY, 74, died at his home at 615 West LaSalle Ave., in South Bend, Ind., at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Brantley
moved to South Bend from Providence in 1942. For many years he operated a shoe repair shop here and prior to that he was in the
coal and ice business. He was a member of the General Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors are the wife, Mrs.
Annie Brantley; four sons, Otho, of Evansville, James C., of Providence, Jesse and Herbert Brantley of South Bend; two daughters,
Mrs. Agnes RIDEOUT and Mrs. Frank HARRIS of South Bend; two brothers, J.G. Brantley, Providence, and Eli Brantley, Sturgis;
two sisters, Mrs. Vic TRADER, near Blackford, and Mrs. John DAUGHERTY, Madisonville; sixteen grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. The body arrived in Providence this morning and was taken to Tapp Funeral Home where it will remain until
time for funeral services. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the General Baptist church with the Rev. W.M. FRISBY
and the Rev. C.W. DUFFER officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery, near Blackford, with Masons in charge.

Nancy Lou BRANTLEY, two-and-a-half, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burble Brantley of Aurora, Colo., formerly of Clay, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday in Cardwell's Clinic in Providence. The child, an invalid from birth, had been ill since Sunday. She and her mother were visiting Mrs. Brantley's father in Clay. Surviving besides the parents are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brantley, Aurora, Colo., and Monnie VAUGHN, Clay. Funeral services will be at 2:30 this afternoon at Franklin-Hunt Funeral Home in Clay, with the Rev. R.T. MITCHELL officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Richard BRANTLEY, 41, formerly of Clay, died Saturday night in a Denver, Colo., hospital following a heart attack suffered a few days earlier. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Sudie Doris Brantley; one daughter, Dorothy, at home; four sons, Darrel, with the U.S. Army in Germany, Norman, Carrol Ray and Stanley Gene Brantley, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brantley of Denver; three brothers, A.C. of Madisonville, Everett and Burble Brantley of Denver; and one sister, Mrs. Bob Meyers of Philadelphia, Pa. The body was expected to arrive in Evansville by train Wednesday night and was to be taken to Franklin Funeral Home in Clay to remain until time for the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at White Oak General Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with the Rev. Carrol YARBROUGH of Princeton officiating.

Clinton BRIDWELL, 35, who was born and reared near Dixon, died Friday night at his home in Vernal, Utah, of a heart attack. Survivors are the wife, Fay; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff AUSTIN, Evansville; and grandmother, Mrs. Kimmie Bridwell, Dixon. The body is at the home of his mother in Evansville. two daughters, Mrs. Arthur COMSTOCK of Dearborn MI, and Mrs. Olive SMITH of Earlington TX; a foster daughter, Mrs.
Jerome FOX of Elmhurst IL; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the General Baptist Church in

R.G. (Uncle Rol) BRIDWELL, 79, of Dixon, died Sunday morning shortly after midnight in Methodist Hospital in Henderson of injuries suffered Friday morning when his car was involved in a collision with a truck. He was enroute to his farm at the time. Survivors are the wife, Rosa; a daughter, Mrs. Ray WOOD of Henderson; three sons, Dorris and Jake of Dixon and Fred of Detroit MI; a sister, Mrs. Florence CROWLEY of Poole; two brothers, Ed of Poole and John of Lola; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Tapp Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. E. G. SISK officiating. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Henderson. Dr. W.A. BRIDWELL, 66, who practiced dentistry in Providence for more than thirty years, died in his office in Sturgis at 8:30 p.m. Monday. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. He suffered a stroke at 3 o'clock and was attended by a Sturgis physician. Dr. Bridwell had been living in Sturgis since June. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth, who has recently joined her husband, who is an army officer in Germany; a son, Paul, Des Moines, Iowa; his father, Thomas J. Bridwell, Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Harlie SAWYER, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. LaVerne TAYLOR Bedford, Ind.; and two brothers, Lt. Col. W.E. Bridwell, Los Angeles, and J.E. Bridwell, Toledo. A son, W.A. Bridwell, jr., died in Tennessee a year ago. Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the grave in Pythian Ridge cemetery in Sturgis, with the Rev. Benjamin CONNAWAY, pastor of First Baptist church, Providence, officiating. J.E. Bridwell, of Toledo, came to Sturgis following his brother's death to make funeral arrangements.

William E. BRIDWELL, Jr., 51, of Poole died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital in Henderson shortly after being admitted. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Surviving are the wife, Beulah Bridwell; a daughter, Mrs. Rudy DUNCAN of Poole; two sons, Casey Bridwell of Owensboro and Glenn D. Bridwell of Poole; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Frank CAMP of Louisville, Mrs. Neal HOBART of Ironton, Ohio, and Miss Joyce ELMORE of Poole; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. W.E. Bridwell, Sr., of Morganfield; three brothers, Maxwell and Gordon of Morganfield, and E.W. Bridwell of Henderson; and a sister, Mrs. Oral PATRICK of Uniontown. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Poole Baptist Church with the Rev. Morgan O. HOCKER officiating. Burial was in Fairmont Cemetery, Henderson. William A. BRIGHTMAN, 81, died Wednesday night, Feburary 17, at his home in Eldorado, Ill. surviving are a son, W.O. Brightman, near Clay; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby BOWMAN of Evansville; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Florence TISON of Eldorado, Mrs. Ed WALLACE and Mrs. Mattye ARFLACK of Evansville, and Mrs. Maud CLARK of Sturgis; and one brother, Hurley Brightman of Sullivan. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rosebud church in Crittenden county, with the Rev. N.B. SIZEMORE of Sullivan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vaden BREWER BRILL, widow of the late Charlie Brill, were held last Thursday in Tapp Funeral Home in
Dixon. Mrs. Brill died on Oct. 2 in her home in Evansville. The Rev. Horace A. SPRAGUE, pastor of Central Methodist church in
Evansville, officiated, and burial was in Oak Grove cemetery, Dixon. Mrs. Brill, who was born and reared in Dixon, had lived in
Evansville a number of years. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Virgil WILLIAMS, and a son Gregory Brill, both of Evansville, and
four grandchildren. She was a sister-in-law of Miss Louisa Brill and Otto Brill of Dixon.

James B. BRINKLEY, 73, native of Webster county, died at 2 a.m. Monday in his home in Sturgis,
following several months of ill health. Mr. Brinkley for many years was a road and bridge contractor
and was widely known in Webster and Union counties. Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. F.E. VAUGHN,
Morganfield; Mrs. Wick COLLINS, Blackford; Mrs. L.D. NESBITT, Mrs. William C. WALLACE, Mrs. J.S.
TROUT, and Mrs. Oscar REYNOLDS, Sturgis; two sons, Henry L. of Blackford, and J.W. Brinkley of
Paducah; two brothers, Elijah of Sturgis, and Curt of Providence; one sister, Mrs. Eula MORGAN,
Blackford; 20 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Oak Grove
church Tuesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. J. Miller COOK of Sturgis officiating. Burial was in the

Aaron Asher BRINSON, 81, retired farmer, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday at his home in Clay where he had lived for the past four years after moving from his farm near Clay. He had been in ill health, but death came unexpectedly. Mr. Brinson was born and reared in Webster county and was a son of the late William and Ann LAMBERT Brinson. He was a member of New Hope Baptist church and was a deacon. Mr. and Mrs. Brinson observed their sixty-first wedding anniversary November 30. Surviving are the wife, Annie; three daughters, Mrs. G.L. WILLIAMS of Concord, N.C., Mrs. G.L. PACE of Collinsville, Ill., and Mrs. Joe MITCHELL, Clay; three sons, Tom of Shawnee, Okla., John and J.L., of Evansville; two nephews, Eddie JAMES, of St. Louis, whom the Brinsons reared, and Arch Brinson, Evansville; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A grandson whom they reared, John Ray Pace, is in the Navy on submarine duty with headquarters in Vallejo, Calif. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist church in Clay, with the Rev. Porter COLE of Providence, pastor of New Hope church, Dr. C.O. SIMPSON and the Rev. G.R. ABERNATHY of Clay officiating. Honorary pallbearers were W.E. HEARON, the Rev. E.L. GRANT, Davis RAYBURN, Herb KUYKENDALL, George COLVIN, T.H. Kuykendall, G.P. Kuykendall, Essell Mitchell, Lloyd BLACKWELL, and H.R. GRIGGS. Active pallbearers were Earl VAUGHN, Everett Hearon, Charlie FORTENBERRY, Luke SHOULDERS, George WILSON, and C.A. Mitchell. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

Mrs. Annie Lee HOLEMAN BRINSON, widow of A.A. Brinson, died Sunday morning at her home on Taylor Street in Clay following a
long illness. A member of a prominent pioneer family, she was the daughter of J.T. and Nancy Bell NEWCOMB Holeman. She
was for many years a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher and was active in
church and her community until her declining years. She was the mother of eight children, two of whom died in childhood, and reared
a grandson, John Ray PACE, and a nephew, Eddie JAMES. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth WILLIAMS and Mrs. Joe
MITCHELL of Clay, and Mrs. G.L. Pace, Collinsville IL; three sons, John H. Brinson and J.L. Brinson, Evansville, and W. Tom
Brinson, Shawnee Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. J.H. HERRON and Miss Bessie

Mrs. Laura Belle BRINSON, 54, former Webster county resident, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday in her home on U.S. 41, north of Henderson, following a lingering illness. Surviving are the husband, J.L. Brinson; two sons, James D. and H. Collins Brinson, both of East St. Louis, Ill.; her mother, Mrs. A.J. HILL, Clay; two brothers, Carl Hill of Clay and Crawford Hill, Evansville; six sisters, Mrs. Mollie GUESS, Henderson; Mrs. Julia HENRY, Clay; Miss Ruby Hill, Chicago; Mrs. Virginia VAUGHN, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Ray MONTGOMERY and Mrs. Chester KING of Louisville; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held in the First Baptist church in Clay at 3 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Bob WALLACE of Wheatcroft officiating, assisted by the Rev. E.G. SISK of Diamond. Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Clay.

James W. BRISCOE, 62, former Slaughters resident, died Thursday at his home in Evansville following a long illness. Mr. Briscoe formerly was a member of Webster county fiscal court from the Slaughters magisterial district. Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Sadie Briscoe; three daughters, Mrs. W.H. BROWN, near Sebree, Mrs. June JONES and Miss Sue Briscoe, of Evansville; and three grandsons. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Slaughters Christian church, with the Rev. C.B. CURTIS of Madisonville, officiating. Burial was in Slaughters cemetery.
