He was also the County's first superintendent of schools and had a general store in Thornbury (P.O. Dixon - banking town Madisonville) in 1886. (R.C. Dun & Co. Reference.) After the death of Emeline, Russell Thornberry married Miriam Cozier 4 Sep 1877 Webster Co. He died 24 Jun 1900 and is buried at Watson-Thornberry Cemetery. Rusell K. Thornberry and Emeline Poole are the 3great-grandparents of Carole Palmer
