According to Minerva Bone Bassett in her book Some Webster County Families, Miles Baker was the son of James Baker, who came to Christian County KY from Bertie County NC soon after 1800. There may have been other sons, but Miles is the only one Bassett identifies as a certainty.

Miles Baker married Frances Jenkins, who is also buried in this cemetery. According to Bassett, they were the parents of five sons and two daughters.
