The Old Jackson Cemetery is located in Webster County, Kentucky on the Old Thomas Jefferson Jackson farm in what was once known as the Carlow area. The old home, general store, Masonic lodge, Stage Coach Inn and the Carlow School are all gone. The old stone fence now stands in Madisonville, Kentucky; however the small cemetery is still resting very peaceably on the hill overlooking what was once a very lively and prosperous area where it has stood for one hundred and fifty years. There are three sections to the cemetery, being three separate fenced-in areas.

There are two graves next to Polly Hays' that are marked by sandstones. This information is presented exactly the way it is inscribed on the head stones.
Other persons known to be buried here by evidence of certificate of death, obituary or family records are:
Henry Hays, born 1835; died about 1898
Nancy T., wife of Henry Hays/Hayes, born Oct 1840; died Aug. 4, 1918
Thomas D. Hays (Masonic Mason), born Aug 1881; died Aug 31, 1940The reason for the two different spellings of the name Hays is that the "E" was added by some family members after 1900.
This information was gathered by Mary M. (Adams) Hayes, a Dixon native, James N. Hayes and Keith Hayes on April 1, 2001.
