Charles Ralph Samples married Sharon Ann Hurt 30 May 1962, the daughter of Posey Bryan Hurt and Mary Edna Gill, and they became the parents of two sons. Charles Ralph Samples is the grandson of Edmond Jackson Crowley and Zora Bell "Shug" Floyd, who are buried at Shady Grove Cemetery.
