Alexander Hamilton

Alexander Hamilton was born about 1808 in Harrison County, Kentucky and came to Scott County in the early 1830's.  The in-laws, the Davis family migrated from Virginia and had been in Scott County for almost 10 years before Alexander arrived there.  Daughter Harriett Davis was born in Virginia in 1810.  Alexander met and married Harriett, not long after he arrived in the county. Due to loss of early marriage records in Scott County, their marriage has not been documented.  Alexander and Harriett purchased land from Jeremiah Minor and there they made their home and raised a large family of 10.  They gave land on Hawkins Hill to build the Minorsville Christian Church; of which they became charter members. Alexander Hamilton died at Minorsville, Scott County, Kentucky on April 22, 1873 and Harriett on July 1, 1880.  Both are buried in the Hamilton Cemetery at Minorsville, Scott County, Kentucky.
