The Watty Caudill Cemetery
at the mouth of Dry Fork

TabTack Description: The Watty Caudill Cemetery at the mouth of Dry Fork is an old family cemetery located off of County Road 588, just south of the mouth of Dry Fork.

TabTack Location: Approximately 37° 07' 05" North Latitude and 82° 52' 29" West Longitude.

TabTack Directions: Take Highway 15, north out of Whitesburg, to County Road 3401 (Lower Dry Fork Road). Turn left on CR 3401 and travel westward along Dry Fork for about 0.8 miles to County Road 588. Turn left on CR 588 and head southward for about 0.25 miles; the cemetery is located up the hill off to the left (not normally visible because of trees and heavy foliage). A steep foot trail zig-zags up to the cemetery. This cemetery is only a few yards north and up the hill from the Boatwright Cemetery.

TabTack Misc. Notes: Most of the original headstones are now illegible, but thanks the the Letcher County Historical/Genealogical Society (LCHGS) and the Pine Mountain Chapter of D.A.R. new headstones have been placed on many of the oldest graves. However, in most cases the original headstones are still in place. The foot trail leading up to the cemetery enters from the left rear of the cemetery. The graves are basically arranged in three rows. There may be several old graves that are no longer identifiable due to missing or overgrown headstones.
