I am looking for the parents of my 5th great grandparents George Coonsand
Sarah , who moved to Harrison County, Kentucky about 1797. George died there.
They reared their 4 children in Harrison County. We have found other possible
records for them in Bourbon, Fayette and Woodford Counties. They may have
come to Kentucky through North Carolina. George's grandfather were one of
the original twelve families who settled Germanna in Virginia in 1714. George
had 4 children: John, who married Rachel Morgan and stayed in Harrison County.
This line intermarries with the Lillys: Isaac, who married Mrs Susan Drennen
in Knox County, Illinois and died there: Elizabeth, who married Samuel Chambers.
They moved to St Louis: David, who married twice, and died in St Louis. They
intermarry with Herrings from Harrison County, Claypools, Shalers and others.
We know alot about David, but very little about his father George and nothing
about his mother Sarah. Any information or inquiries are appreciated. The
name has been found spelled numerous ways. Coons, Coone, Cuntz, Koen, and
Coonts.
