I am looking for information about my great-great-grandfather, John A. HAGERTY. He married Elizabeth HENDERSON and lived in Harrison Co., KY. She died about 1822. He had several children. He moved to Missouri first with his children and then to Brown County (Cooperstown) Illinois where he remarried, America DeWitt. It is possible that the Hagerty's, DeWitt's and Hendersons were neighbors which was how he got to Illinois. I know one of his sons, John T. Hagerty settled in Blandinsville, IL and was one of the pioneers of McDonough County. What happened to the rest of his children is a mystery. Also, after he married America, they had 5 children, one of which is my great-grandfather Paul Hagerty. Another son, Silas, or Uncle Sil as my mother called him, settled in Beardstown and I have quite a bit of information about. It is this early period of time I am most interested in. In the Cooperstown, IL 1850 Census it is listed that John A. was born in Maryland. I would like t! o be able to trace him there and on back if possible. Pleae help. Thanking you in advance.
