William Shields was listed in a book "The History of Bourbon, Scott, Harrison and Nicholas County Kentucky." On page 217 lists William Shields as coming to Harrison County, Kentucky in 1775 with several other men "in search of lands to improve." I'm trying to find from where this group of men came from. William Sheilds is the name of my Great-great-great-grandfather. He was married to a Nancy Elizabeth Nash and their first child was born in 1795. William was born 1760/70? The records I have show they lived in Bourbon County, but I can't find any information on where they came from or their parents and brothers and sisters. The William Shields mentioned in this book could be him or his father. Their children were David W., Joseph, Susan, William Jr., John, Mary, and Jane. His son Joseph Shields married or live with Sarah Masterson, her father was Caleb Masterson of Lexington, Kentucky. I can't find any information about their wedding, but I know all of their children. Thank you for any help you can give!
