Peter Talbott (of Pendleton County) enlisted at Cynthiana, Harrison Co in
the Kentucky Militia on March 29, 1813 as a substitute for Abraham McNeil
in Capt Thomas' Company of Lt Col Dudley's Regiment. According to National
Archives records, he was taken prisoner on May 1, 1813 at "Dudley's Defeat"
and was either let off on parole or exchanged according to the Rules of War.
I am seeking information on Abraham McNeil, Capt Thomas, or Lt Col William
Dudley who met his demise during his defeat. From this battle near Fort Meigs
(now Defiance) Ohio is the well documented account of how the Indian chief
Tecumseh stopped a slaughter of prisoners at Dudley's Defeat.

Jack (Jackson) Fry or Frye, born 1860, married Frannice L. approximately
1849, born 1835. She applied and was rejected for Andrew Jackson Fry's Pension,
but so did 3 other women -they may have divorced. Andrew Jackson also received
a TX land grant in Titus County, Texas. I belieive that he was in the military,
because he had 3 kids before the Civil War (by 1849) then he had 4 after
the war (after 1864) and none during the war. He went by Jack on the 1870
Titus County, Texas census. He was born in KY and his first set of children
were born in KY. His oldest son received a Texas homestead land grant for
service in the Confederate Army. His children born in KY: Guy b 1849;
John b 1852; William b 1858.

Land Records?? for 1794 to 1830-- Are they available- and where should I
look. My family - George Hinson from Fauquire Co. Virginia was in Harrison
County, Kentucky for that period of time, later the family left for MIssouri.
I have often wondered who? What was going on in 1835 to uproot them after
so many years in the county. I believe the entire family left. Any insight
into these questions would be much appreciated. Thank you.
