John Edward Brawner

John Edward Brawner, son of Theophilis and Rachel Wade Brawner, was born in Franklin County, Kentucky on November 18, 1821.  He died
on April 2, 1863 in Franklin County and is buried in the Penn Graveyard at Stoney Creek in Franklin County.  John married Margaret Ann "Meg" Pulliam on January 3, 1844 in Oldham County, Kentucky.  Margaret was the daughter of William Pulliam and Cynthia Penn.  She was born in Franklin County on September 10, 1827.  After the death of John, Margaret married for the second time on March 7, 1867 to Jeremiah Mathis. She died on February 28, 1918 in Franklin County.

William Frankfort S. "Pig" Brawner, born November 20, 1845 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  He married Deborah Ann "Debby" Pence
sometime before 1867.  Debby was born in Franklin County on June 6, 1844. Her parents are not known at this time.  Pig and Debby
had children William VanBuren, James Edward, George Thomas, a Male, John C., Mary T., and Fanny.  
Walter Franklin Roland "Toby" Brawner, born November 29, 1847 in Franklin County.  He married Eliza Jane Smither, daughter of
William Smither and Jane Penn on January 31, 1870.  They had children; Margaret, Martha, Mary, Thomas and Lewis. Watler died
in Shelby County, Kentucky on October 2, 1922.  Eliza born August 10, 1845, died earlier on July 25, 1916.  Both are buried

in the Eminence Cemetery, Henry County, Kentucky.
James R. Brawner, born November 10, 1849 in Franklin County.  He married Frances Lewis on December 25, 1876.  A daughter,
Pearlie was born on February 20, 1878, and died about a year later. Frances was born on January 27, 1855 and died January 7, 1918.
She was the daughter of Mahala A. Lewis and granddaughter of Lucy Semonus. The 1900 census for Franklin County, Peaks Mill
district list James, Frances, Mahala and Lucy. James died on March 29, 1933.  He and Frances are buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.
George Washington Brawner, born May 21, 1852 in Franklin County.  On October 16, 1873 in Franklin County, George married
Nancy Ann O'Nan, born in 1857, daughter of Harmon O' Nan and Virginia Polsgrove.  Six children were born to this union -
Cynthia Jane, Sarah Ann,  Lonnie, Lula, Robert Lee and George Edward. Frankfort Newspaper April 18, 1895  reported the suicide of

George Brawner. Nancy died January 24, 1921 in Trimble County, Kentucky.
Charles Riley "Big Charley" Brawner, born May 13, 1854 in Franklin County. On October 31, 1872, he married Mary Jane Polsgrove
Mayberry.  They had children; Jeremiah, Julia Ann, Felix and Mary.  Charley left Franklin County amd moved east.  By the 1900
census he was listed in Boyle County, Kentucky living next to son, Jerry. Charley was a blacksmith and ran a grocery.  He died in
Lincoln County, Kentucky on September 15, 1914 and is buried in the McKinney Cemetery there. Mary died in Morgan County,
Tennessee on June 15, 1930.
Cynthia Jane Brawner, born April 23, 1856 in Franklin County.  She married Marion Harrison Chism, son of Greenville and Attaway
Sudduth Chism, on April 3, 1878.  Cynthia and Marion had three children; William, Manzy and Attaway.  Marion died on
August 31, 1939 and Cynthia on October 29, 1939. Both are buried at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin
County, Kentucky.
Fielding E. Brawner, born July 17, 1860 in Franklin County, Kentucky.  He married Mary E. Banta, born January 2, 1869
in Henry County, Kentucky. No children was born to this union. She died on March 2, 1941 and her death certificate states
she was the daughter of Nancy Ellen Black, father not known.  Fielding died on December 25, 1938 leaving a will dated
December 30, 1929.  Both are buried at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Franklin Counry, Kentucky. 
Malinda Ann Brawner, born February 24, 1862 in Franklin County.  She married Robert Preston "Bob" Blackaby on December
20, 1880.  He was the son of Robert and Susan Aldridge Blackaby.  Bob was born April 10, 1848 in Henry County, Kentucky.

Malinda and Bob were the parents of Minerva, Paul, Lou Ada, Silas, Margaret and Magdalene.  Bob died on June 1, 1919 and
Malinda on June 2, 1932.  Both are buried in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery, Hall's Gap, Lincoln County, Kentucky.
