Bessie Manning
    Bessie L. Manning, 64, a resident of Highlandville, Mo., died
Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.
    She was born in Lebo, Oct. 13, 1937, to Louis A. and Pearle L.
(Lauderbach) Veesey. She was a caregiver.
    On Oct. 5, 1956, she married Billy Manning in Valley Falls, and he
survives at their home.
    She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia.
    Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, Darrel J.
Manning of Vassar and Steven L. Manning of Emporia; one daughter, Diana
R. Newman of Highlandville, Mo,; one brother, Virgil Veesey of Palo
Alto, Calif.; two sisters, Fern Hoffman of San Jose, Calif., and Ann
Leverling of Topeka; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Timothy Allen Manning, preceded her in death.
    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Timmons
Funeral Home, Fredonia Rev. Max manning will officiate. burial will be
in the Fredonia City Cemetery.
    Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God
Church in Fredonia.

    Bessie L. Manning of Highlandville, Mo, formerly of Fredonia, died
Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Presbyterian Manor in Topeka, KS. She was
64.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the
Timmons funeral Home with Rev. Max Manning officiating. Burial was in
Fredonia City Cemetery.
    The daughter of Louis A. and Perle L. (Lauderbach) Veesey, she was
born Oct. 13, 1937, in Lebo, KS.
    On oct 5, 1956, she married Billy Manning in Valley Falls, KS. He
survives at the home.
    She was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of the First
Assembly of God Church in Fredonia.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Darrel J.
Vassar, KS, and Steven L. of Emporia, KS; a daughter, Diana R. Newman
of Highlandville, MO; a brother, Virgil Veesey of Palo Alto, CA; two
sisters, Fern Hoffman of San Jose, CA, and Ann Levering of Topeka, KS;
eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allen Manning.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God
Church in Fredonia.
