CECIL RODGERS

Cecil Wayne Rodgers, 58, Hutchinson, Kan., a former Wheaton area resident, was pronounced dead on arrival at 8:20 a.m. Sunday at Hutchinson Municipal Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Rodgers was born June 1, 1922, in Barry County.  He was a fireman for the Santa Fe Railroad at Hutchinson.  He was an U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving is his mother, Mrs. Maude Rodgers, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.  The Rev. Oren Cossey officiated. Burial was in Muncie Chapel Cemetery, north of Wheaton.

Graveside military rites were conducted by the Pierce City National Guard unit.
