Claude F. Nelson

Claude F. Nelson, 75, died July 13, 2002, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.

 He was born Feb. 16, 1927, at Anadarko, Okla., the son of James and Delia Avery Nelson. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Community College. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, he was owner and operator of Nelson Tree and Pest Control.

 On Oct. 7, 1961, he married Nancy D. Conner at Newkirk, Okla. She survives.

 Other survivors include five sons, Claude F. Jr., Canton, Clyde W., Newton, the Rev. Harold E., Mark A. and Kenneth, all of Hutchinson; two daughters, Cheryl L. Christian and Twila L. Starks, both of Hutchinson; two sisters, Edna Cottle, Hutchinson, and Audrey Nevius, Arkansas City; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

 A twin brother, Clyde Wayne Nelson, preceded him in death.

 Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Harold E. Nelson presiding. Friends may visit from noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

 Memorials may be sent to the Claude F. Nelson Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.
