Vera Phillips and Mrs. Elizabeth Hendershot Obituary

Followed Her Grandchild.

The Death of an Infant Child Hurries the End of Its Grandmother.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Phillips ten miles southwest of Hutchinson, is in mourning over the sad death of two of the most loved members of the family, the grandmother and baby child.

Saturday evening Vera, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillips died after a short spell of lung fever.  The baby’s grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hendershot, who lived with the family, had been wrapped up in the baby, and cared for it with all the love of a mother.  The death of the child was such a severe blow to the aged lady that she was stricken to her bed, and being already a victim of that dreaded disease consumption, she silently passed away Sunday.  The double funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Dunkard church, near Booth, conducted by Rev. G. W. Morgan.
