Native American

OFGS has attempted to collect information on the Indian Tribes that lived in Bourbon County whether for a few years while moving on to their final location or of the Osage that lived here for many generations. There was a massacre of a Munsee family in Bourbon County and many of the young braves were paramount in the winning of the Civil War in the states near Kansas. Native Americans were important in the maintaining the lands and teaching the white's how to survive on the land. We need to honor them with remembering their dedication to using the land without damaging the land.
