WILLIAM FORNEY DEAD.

William Forney died at the National Soldiers Home at Leavenworth, Sunday, March 26, after suffering a second stroke of paralysis, Friday, which left him unconscious until the end. He suffered the first stroke of paralysis about two years ago and has been in serious condition since. Mr. Forney had suffered another stroke Friday night, Ed Forney and R. B. Harris went to Leavenworth but Mr. Forney did not regain consciousness. They brought the body home Monday and the funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. B. Mayo. Another old resident gone.

Mr. Forney was born at Bakersfield, Ohio, January 8, 1841. He was married in 1863 to Miss Elizabeth Wiggle also of Bakersfield. In January 1864, he enlisted in Company A, 194th Ohio Infantry and was discharged in July of the same year. His service was in Virginia and West Virginia.

In 1879, Mr. and Mrs. Forney and their family moved to Toledo, in the east part of this county, and in 1881 they moved to this city. While they lived at Toledo three of their children died, two girls and a boy, leaving only two children, Ed Forney and Sadie Forney, now Mrs. R. B. Harris.

Mr. Forney learned the blacksmith trade when only seventeen years old and worked the trade continuously until he retired, except the two years he lived at Toledo.

Mrs. Forney died in October, 1914, and was buried in the Strong City Cemetery. Mr. Forney was laid to rest beside her.
