Obituary.
William Blosser was born January 31, 1838, in Perry
county, Ohio. Departed this life February 9, 1918, at Council Grove,
Kansas, aged eighty years and nine days. Has resided in Council Grove for
the last twenty years. Though he endured the hardships of a soldier in the
Civil War, yet it may be truly said of him in his declining years that he was a
rustler. He served three years in the 15th Ohio Infantry. Was in the
battle of Pittsburg Landing, Mission Ridge, Lookout Mountain and others.
Took an active part in the G. A. R. Post of which he was a member. He was
married to Mrs. Emma F. Chappel of Litchfield, Illinois, June 2, 1894, at Strong
City, Kansas. He united with the Christian Science church in 1902.
The funeral service was held at his home on North Mission street, conducted by
George B. Weesner, First Reader of Christian Science church, Emporia, Kansas.
Interment in Greenwood cemetery in charge of G. A. R. Post.
The many floral offerings were lovingly contributed by neighbors, friends, the G. A. R. Post and the Corps.
