Thomas Treadway Moved to Neosho

County in 1869.

Thomas Treadway died at his home in this city Wednesday, February 28, and in his death Neosho county has lost another one of its pioneer citizens. Mr. Treadway moved to this county from Ohio in 1869 and he has been a resident of Neosho ever since. He first located in Walnut Grove township near Bethel and resided there until twenty-one years ago when he moved his wife to this city to live the balance of his days. He has always been an honest and industrious citizen and it was such men as the late Thomas Treadway, that made this county the great and good county that it is now.

The deceased was a civil war veteran and he enlisted in Co. F, 155th Illinois Infantry. He was an active member of the Methodist church and for years was one of the main standbys at the Bethel church which is one of the strongest rural churches in this part of the state. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in this city this afternoon at 2 o’clock and the remains will be given final rest in the Erie cemetery, east of town. Rev. A. M. Maclean will have charge of the services.

The late Thomas Treadway is survived by a wife, two daughters, Mrs. Lafe Miller and Mrs. Lillie Kennedy, both of this city; and four sons, W. H. Treadway of Erie; McLealand Treadway of Burden; Aleck Treadway of Uniontown; and Clarence Treadway of Kimball.
