FLAIZ---Wedneday Oct. 25, 1905, at
11:00 a. m., at his home southeast of Severy, Mr. Richard Flaiz, aged 72 years,
3 months and 10 days.
Mr. Flaiz was born in Baden,
Germany, July 15, 1833; come to America with his parents when four years of age
and grew up to manhood in Dayton, Ohio; was married to Henrietta Hipner in 1856;
served three years in the civil war in the 118th Ohio Regiment and received an
honorable discharge July 6, 1865; in 1869 he removed to Washington county this
state where he took up a homestead and remained there until 1885 when he removed
the farm southeast of Severy which has been his home until the time of his
death. He is survived by a loving wife, four sons, Charles Flaiz at
Medford, Minn., Frank Fraiz, Los Vages, N. M., Dick Flaiz, Severy, Ed. Flaiz,
New Albany, and four daughters, Mrs. Mary Huschart, Bingham, Wash., Mrs. Minnie
Dillingham, Severy, Mrs. Bessie Lucas, Iola, and Miss Amanda Flaiz at home.
The funeral will be held at the
house Saturday Oct. 28th at 2 p. m. by the Severy G. A. R. Post of which he was
a member. The remains will be interred in Twin Groves cemetery.
