The funeral of the late Henry G. Beatty was held Monday morning in the Church of the Ascension, with interment in Graceland and was largely attended by friends and relatives of decedent. Rev. W. R. Yeakell, the rector officiated and old friends were the pall bearers: Dr. Flook, H. E. Cowgill, W. B. Mather, F. Hoffmans, G. Sweet and L. M. Gortner.
Mr. Beatty was born in Xenia, O. May 1, 1841, attended Delaware University and enlisted in the war in the 46th Ohio regiment. He moved to Kansas at the end of the war and to Burlington a year later, this city afterwards being his home. He was married to Miss Alice M. Williams in 1868 and two sons survive with the widow. They are Frank R. of California, and H. W. of this city.
He was engaged in the grocery and produce business here up to five years ago when he retired on account of failing health.
