Another Old Soldier Gone.

Between the hours of 12 and 1 o’clock this morning Capt. Clem March breathed his last. His death was sudden and a surprise to everyone. He came home from Kansas City Tuesday with a severe attack of pneumonia and kept growing gradually worse until Thursday evening, when the doctors gave him up. Capt. March came to Kansas from Moultry-co., Illinois, in 1868, and for several years lived on the old Dagnette farm, north of Paola, afterwards moving to Paola, where he lived with his family in the first ward until his death. He was 53 years of age, being born April, 1837.

Capt. March was a gallant soldier during the war, serving in Co. B, 5th Illinois cavalry as 1st Lieutenant, of which he was afterward Captain. He is a member of McCaslin Post G. A. R. of Paola, by whom the funeral ceremonies will be conducted tomorrow at 1 o’clock, at the Paola cemetery.

The deceased leaves a wife and three children, besides three brothers and a host of friends to mourn his death. He was a good citizen whose death will be greatly felt by all who knew him.
