Death of a Good Man.

  Benjamin Franklin Beeson died at his home on 8th street on Monday, June 19, 1905, at about 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon.  He had only been confined to his bed since Wednesday evening last, though, he has been very feeble for the past two years.

  He was born Feb. 25, 1843, and hence at death was aged 62 years, 3 months and 24 days.  He was married in Fredonia, May 16, 1875, and has with his family resided here since that time.  He leaves a wife and two daughters.

  He enlisted Sept. 1, 1851, in the 9th Ind. Infantry.  On Dec. 11, 1863, he was discharged for re-enlistment and on Dec. 11 re-enlisted for three years.  He was discharged Sept. 28, 1865.  He participated in a large number of engagements, among which were Franklin, Danville, Stone River, Atlanta, Nashville, etc.

  In Feb. 1891, he was converted and united with Methodist Episcopal church in which he has remained a faithful member.  The funeral services were held at the M. E. church at 3:00 this afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. W. Chaffee.  The interment was in the Fredonia cemetery.

  Frank Beeson as he was familiarly known, had a host of friends among whom he was greatly esteemed.
