The Sleeping Heroes in Our
Cemeteries
The list that follows are the names and regiments of
the departed heroes of the Civil and Phillipine wars who lie sleeping in the
Altamont, Elston and Wooden cemeteries.
It might be possible that we have failed to get all but we have done the
best we can under the circumstances. A
number did not belong to the Post here and it is almost impossible to get a
complete record. Many who have belonged
to this Post have been buried elsewhere.
The following is a list of departed soldiers whose graves will be
decorated with flags and wreathes by the Topping G. A. R. Post No. 268,
Saturday morning, May 30, at 10 o’clock:
