Obituary.

As Almighty God saw fit to remove from our midst a beloved father, good citizen and esteem friend, Albert Troester, after a short illness responded to the call and quietly passed away Tuesday, November 14, at 11 o’clock p. m., in the presence of his wife, two sons and some grandchildren and friends at the old homestead. The deceased was the father of six children, three sons and three daughters and is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, Fred Troester residing at Humboldt, Albert L. Troester living on the north quarter of the old homestead, Mrs. E. G. S. Weber also living on one of the quarter of the homestead and Mrs. Dave O’Farrell living six miles southeast of Parsons. He was born in Saxony Germany, and came to St. Louis when a boy where he worked at blacksmithing. He was married to Miss Thressa Smith, also from Germany, and at time employed in the city and after living in St. Louis for some time moved to Pinkneyville, Ill. He served Uncle Sam throughout the rebellion from 61 to 65 while his wife at home toiled faithfully to assist him in going ahead. About 39 years ago he and his family came to Labette county where they settled on the homestead he owned at the time of his death.

After service at the St. Patrick Catholic church his remains were laid to rest by the side of his comrades in Oakwood cemetery at Parsons.
