Rachel H. Karst, 73, died Monday, June 12, 1978, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.

Born Rachel Steinert July 15, 1904 in Russell County, she married John Karst, May 18, 1924 at Milberger. She was a lifetime Galatia resident.  She was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, ALCW, both of Milberger.

Survivors include widower; daughters: Mrs. Helen Schwein, Russell; Mrs. Dolores Deutsch, Hoisington; Mrs. Norma Stricker, Great Bend; Mrs. Marge Kraft, Ness City; Mrs. Rita Thompson, Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Mrs. Caroline Wasemiller, Hillsboro; Mrs. Tabea Karst, Galatia; Mrs. Esther Popp, Hoisington; 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren.

The funeral was Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Robert Kreier was in charge of services. The burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Galatia.

Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were John Schwien, Jim Schwien, Randal Deutsch, Rod Kraft, Tony Stricker and Brent Thompson.
Family suggests memorials to the church.
