Obituary of LOUIS DEINES |
Louis, one of 16 children of Peter and Christine Deines, was born Oct. 24, 1892, at the family homestead in south Russell County. He died at a hospital in Keokuk, Iowa, on Dec. 6, 1969. His age was 77 years, one month and 12 days. He was baptized in early infancy and later confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Milberger. He attended rural school and was later graduated from business college. On Dec. 7, 1919, he married Katherine Krug at the Milberger Church. They had seven children. She died Dec. 1, 1934. Mr. Deines farmed his land in the Milberger community until 1938. He farmed for a number of years in Missouri, later moved to Moran, Kan., and Denver, Colo. On Dec. 4, 1956, he married Clara Reitz of LaGrange, Mo., who survives him at their farm home in LaGrange. Mr. Deines had been in failing health since a car accident about three years ago. The seven children are: Mrs. Ruth Ehrlich, Bunker Hill; Harvey Denies, Denver, Colo,; Mrs. Rosalinda Ivey, Golden, Colo.; Mrs., Rozella McKibben, Daly City, Calif.; Lloyd Deines, Denver, Colo; Waldean Deines, Bellevue, Neb., and Gerald Deines, San Mateo, Calif. There are 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Bailey Funeral Home, LaGrange, Mo., at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, and from the Milberger Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 Rev. Gilbert Kisling conducted the service at Milberger. Mrs. LaVern Becker was organist. The congregation sang, "Jesus Still Lead On" and "Oh, Take My Hand, Dear Father." Pallbearers were Phillip Deiners, Kendall Deines, Ralph Ivey, George Whitmer, Rodney Whitmer and Randy Ehrlich. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery at Milberger. Deines Brothers Funeral Home was in charge. |
