Funeral Card of ELMER EMANUEL BOXBERGER

One of the seven children of Emanuel and "Mollie" (Beck) Boxberger, was born February 18, 1918 at the family farm home south of Russell, Kansas. He departed this life after suffering a fatal heart attack while engaged in his line of work at the Pioneer community on September 3, 1968. His age was 50 years, 6 months and 16 days.
A lifetime resident, he was baptized in early infancy and after becoming of age, was confirmed in the American Lutheran Church at Milberger. He received his education and training in the community of his birth. During World War II he entered the service of his country on November 26, 1943 and earned a T/Sergeant rating and was honorably discharged April 4, 1946. There were four children born to this union, Mrs. Gladys Ann Standley, Mrs. Loretta Goodheart, Ronald and Donald, all of Russell.

Most of Elmer's adult life was spent in oil field work and for the most part he owned and operated Boxberger Tank Service. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, The American Legion, The Elks and Eagle Lodges. But above all these affiliations his main interest was centered in his family and his home.

To treasure and forever cherish his memory, are his wife and the four children; his mother, Mrs. Mollie Boxberger, Great Bend; two grandsons, Bryan and Bradley Standley; two brothers, Clarence of Russell; Leo, of Oakley, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Tabea Dumler, Russell; Mrs. Irene Ehrlich, Great Bend; Mrs. Rosie Niedens, Hoisington, and Dorothy Niedens, Denver Colo.; other near relatives and many friends. His father preceded him in death, also one grandson, Douglas Goodheart.

Memorial Service: Held Friday, September 6, 1968, from The Deines Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. and from St. John Lutheran Church at 10:30 a.m. Pastor R. G. Sedo, officiating.
Organist: Mrs. Howard Vladar
There is a note that Soloist, Mr. Ed Sewell did not sing, instead the quartet sang.
Hymns: "So Nimm Den Meina Henda" in German, "Abide with Me"
Casket Bearers: Albert Drake, Jule Radke, Stanley Boom, Joe Werth, L. M. Boatright, and Delmar Keil.
