Obituary of EMANUEL DUMLER |
Emanuel Dumler, one of the seven children and the son of Jacob and Katherine (Beck) Dumler, was born July 28, 1894, in the family farm home east of Russell, Kansas and died on Dec. 18, 1964, in Russell City Hospital. In early infancy he was baptized and later, after becoming of age, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He remained a member of St. John Lutheran Church until his death. He acquired his early education and farm training in the rural community where he was born and became, and remained, a successful farmer. On Dec. 22, 1914, he and Mary E. Milberger were married. This union was blessed with three children, Irene (Mrs. Cal Boxberger), Whilmetta (Mrs. Max P. Horn) and Dale Emanuel (Buddy), who preceded his father in death on May 30, 1938. A lifelong resident of this community, he served 22 years as treasurer of the Lutheran Church. Survivors are: his widow, Mary, of the home at 529 E. 7th Street, Russell; two daughters, Irene, of Great Bend and Whilmetta of Russell; three grandchildren, Gary Boxberger, Mountain View, Calif., Linda Boxberger, Great Bend, Kan. and Bill Horn, Russell; two brothers , David S. and George A. Dumler and one sister, Mrs. Katie Maier, all of Russell. Two brothers, Jacob and Alexander, one sister, Mrs. Christina Reissig, and one grandson, Donald J. Boxberger, preceded him in death. Memorial services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, in Deines Brothers Funeral Home and funeral rites were at 2 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. R. G. Sedo, pastor, officiated. Funeral music was provided by Rudolph Parker, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Howard Vladar, organist. Pallbearers were Leon R. Dumler, Ralph A. Dumler, Elroy G. Dumler, Carl A. Dumler, Paul E. Dumler, and Adolph A. Dumler. Honorary pallbearers were Her- (note: this is the end of my copy of the obituary.) |
