Obituary of ALEXANDER FUNK
Alexander Funk was born Dec. 12, 1894, at Russell, Kansas, and died Sept. 4, 1968, at his home, 236 E. 16th St., in Russell. He was 73 years, 8 months and 23 days old.

He was the son of George Henry and Mary (Rummel) Funk. With the exception of six years spent in Cimarron, Kan., he was a resident of the Russell Community. In early infancy he was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

On Aug. 10, 1950, he married May Bear at Russell. Their home was on a farm about five miles north of Russell. He retired from farming in 1965 and then resided in Russell until his death.

Survivors include the widow; a brother, Henry Funk, Russell; two half-brothers, Charley Funk, of Dodge City, and Jacob Funk, Russell; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Stewart, Russell, Mrs. Elizabeth Bisterfelt, Dorrance, and a half sister, Mrs. Mary Bender, Natoma.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Sept. 6, from The Deines Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Rev. R. G. Sedo of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Mrs. Howard Vladar was organist and Ed Sewell soloist. Hymns were "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art."
Pallbearers were Emmett Speere, John Fuller, Howard Fowler, Fred Claussen, William Heard, and Herman Langholz.
Burial was in the Russell City Cemetery. Dienes Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
