Obituary of WILLIAM "SKIPPER" TRAXSON

PIONEER DIED TUESDAY MORNING
Had been in Failing Health For Several Years......Settled Near Angola in 1880 William Skipper Traxson, 83 years of age, died at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday morning (Feb 11, 1930) at the home of a son, Fred Traxson, near Angola. He had been in failing health for sometime, but the direct cause of his death was gangrene poisoning which he had contracted in one leg about six weeks ago.
Mr. Traxson was a pioneer settler in this community, having come here in about 1880 and settled on a farm near Angola where he had made his home until he moved to Coffeyville about twenty years ago, where he resided until about three years ago when his wife died and he returned to Angola, where he has since made his home with a son, Fred Traxson.
Mr.Traxson is survived by four sons---George Traxson of Coffeyville; Will, Fred, and John of near Angola, and two daughters, Mrs. Don Rose, of Angola and Mrs. Rose Ryan of Climax, Kans.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Angola at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Richland cemetery.
