THE PARSONS SUN, 9 June 1949
Obituary of FRANCIS A. EVERY
PIONEER BUILDER DIES AT 81
Funeral services for Francis A. Every, 81 years old, pioneer resident, were conducted from the Rude Funeral home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Riley Archer officiating and burial in Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Every, who died at the home of his son, A. V. Every, 1130 Crawford Monday, was for many years a building contractor. He built both the Catholic churches in Parsons as well as many churches, schools, and other buildings in the territory. In 1930 he purchased a grocery at 112 North 13th, and operated it until his health forced his retirement in 1945.
He was born in Delaware County, New York, and when he was two years of age the family came to Kansas and settled on a farm near Montana, Kansas. He was married to Anna (Emma) Bell Tissue of Parsons in 1890. She died in 1927. He is survived by a son, A. V. Every of Parsons, and a brother, Albert Every, Stoutsville, Missouri.
